Geophysical Signals Induced by Magma Propagation: Insights From Analog Experiments
Abstract The propagation of magma through the Earth's crust often generates seismic signals and surface deformation, both key indicators of volcanic unrest. While surface deformation is attributed to magma emplacement within fractures, identifying the exact source of the seismic signal remains challenging. Such signals could stem from fracturing at the

One key step when interpreting seismic reflection data is sequence stratigraphy, which has improved with well logs and seismic data. By analyzing the different layers of sediment and rock, we can better understand the geologic history of an area

Abstract Quantifying decadal‐scale erosion rates in tectonically active regions is essential for assessing landscape hazards and constraining sediment budgets. A key question in Earth surface processes is how contemporary erosion measurements influenced by recent climatic extremes relate to long‐term geological rates.

Abstract The bedrock beneath the Antarctic Ice Sheet has experienced widespread viscoelastic deformation as a response to ice‐sheet changes from the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) to present day. The combined changes of the ice sheet and the bedrock most likely had impacted subglacial water routes.

Abstract Southern Italy and eastern Sicily have been the site of several destructive historical earthquakes. Here at the junction between the western edge of the Calabrian subduction zone and the Malta Escarpment several strike‐slip faults have been mapped, which may be the surface expression of the lateral slab tear fault and are candidate sources for

Abstract Slip rate is a key input for fault‐based seismic hazard assessment, with temporal and spatial variations in slip rate along and between faults influencing earthquake size and recurrence. Temporal variations in slip rate have been attributed to earthquake clustering and anti‐clustering in tectonically active settings.

Abstract Submarine landslides occur globally and have the potential to damage seafloor infrastructure and trigger tsunamis. Recently, diatomaceous weak layers have been hypothesized to play a role in triggering submarine landslides on passive continental margins by generating overpressure.

Abstract To understand the interplay of climate and tectonics in driving long‐term erosion and landscape evolution in the Himalayan orogen, this study examines the tectono‐thermal evolution of the Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest)‐Rolwaling‐Okhaldhunga region in eastern Nepal.
