Computer Programs in Seismology: An Evolving Tool for Instruction and Research
, 2013Earthquake seismology, like most areas of geophysics, is a fascinating mix of theory, computation, and observation. The past 50–60 years of earthquake seismology can be described as a synergistic interaction between the expanding quantity and improving ...

Seismic source and wave propagation studies contribute to understanding structure, transport, fracture mechanics, mass balance, and other processes within glaciers and surrounding environments. Glaciogenic seismic waves readily couple with the bulk Earth, and can be recorded by seismographs deployed at local to global ranges.

Abstract : Seismic research projects supported by the contract are summarized under three broad categories: The structure and some properties of the earth's mantle and deep interior are investigated using arrays and dt/d(delta) measurements, dense net of stations in North America, as well as seismic surface waves and free oscillations. Body and surface

Earthquake Seismology, Exploration Seismology and Engineering Seismology: How Sweet It is --- Listening to the Earth [PDF]
The seismic method has three areas of application with different requirements for band-width and depth-width: (1) Earthquake seismology with a bandwidth up to 10 Hz and a depth of interest down to 100 km, (2) Exploration seismology with a bandwidth up to 100 Hz and a depth of interest down to 10 km, and (3) Engineering seismology with a bandwidth up to
