Multilevel Selective Harmonic Elimination for an Asymmetric Converter

2018 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2018
A novel Multilevel Selective Harmonic Elimination technique is presented for a 27-Level cascaded converter that follows the 9:3:1 ratio. The mathematical model of the AC waveform in the frequency domain allows to calculate the firing angles of the power cells in order to eliminate all the non-triple odd harmonics below the 51th order.

Selective Harmonic Elimination for an Asymmetrical Multilevel Converter

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2007
In this paper, a novel asymmetrical multilevel converter is proposed which is composed a 3-level leg and a 2-level leg. The principle of the converter is analyzed. The new schema requires fixed insulated supplies instead of capacitors. Selective harmonic elimination method is used to eliminate the specified harmonics in the output voltage.

Selective harmonic elimination PWM using ant colony optimization

2017 Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2017
Selective harmonic elimination pulse width modulation (SHEPWM) is a useful switching technique in multilevel inverters because of low number of switching and at the same time, high quality of output voltage waveform. The main problem in SHEPWM is finding the optimum switching angles with the aim of minimizing specific harmonics.

Selective harmonic elimination PWM technology applied in PMSMs

2012 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2012
This paper introduces selective harmonic elimination PWM (SHEPWM) technology applied in PMSMs. According to model of PMSMs, relation between harmonic currents and voltages is derived. From this relation, selection principle of SHEPWM is different for salient pole PMSMs and non-salient pole PMSMs.

Performance Improved Multilevel Inverter with Selective Harmonic Elimination

2017 International Conference on Recent Trends in Electrical, Electronics and Computing Technologies (ICRTEECT), 2017
Various topologies of multilevel inverters have been proposed as a potential replacement for cascaded multilevel inverters in high-voltage, high-power applications as they can be extended to any number of voltage levels without introducing much more complexity to the control system.

Selective harmonic elimination for the modular multilevel converter

2016 North American Power Symposium (NAPS), 2016
This paper will analyze the power quality of multilevel voltage waveforms generated using three modulation strategies: i) a conventional nearest level control (NLC) strategy, ii) NLC with harmonic elimination, and iii) optimized selective harmonic elimination (OSHE).

Genetic Algorithm for Selective Harmonic Elimination PWM Control

2014
The paper presents an optimal solution for eliminating pre-specified order of harmonics from three-phase inverter. One solution to this problem is the selective harmonic elimination, which is required to solve multiple nonlinear equations simultaneously. Genetic algorithm (GA) technique is introduced to minimize the computational burden associated with

Selective harmonic elimination in seven level cascaded inverter

2013 International Conference on Renewable Energy and Sustainable Energy (ICRESE), 2013
This paper aims to extend the knowledge about the implementation of selective harmonic elimination in cascaded multilevel inverter to eliminate the specified harmonics in the output voltage. An optimization technique is proposed to compute switching angles at fundamental frequency switching scheme by solving non-linear transcendental equations (known ...
