Update on selective oxidation using gold

Chem. Soc. Rev., 2012
This critical review aims to update the recent development in the selective oxidation of organic compounds by gold catalysis, highlighting the progress in the last three years. Following the impressive developments in the last decades, several protocols for catalytic oxidation are today available, which are based on the extraordinary properties of gold

Tungsten oxides as catalysts in selective oxidation

Journal of Catalysis, 1983
Abstract The reaction of allyl iodide was studied at the surface of four tungsten oxides and molybdenum trioxide. On WO2.95 and MoO3, in which crystallographic shear structures are formed on reduction, acrolein is produced at 300–400 °C, whereas W18O49 and WO2, which do not show this property, are inactive, as is WO3.

Selective Oxidation of Propylene

1979
Publisher Summary This chapter focuses on a single aspect of selective hydrocarbon oxidation, the selective oxidation of propylene to acrolein, with the questions in mind, such as “How is propylene activated? What is the nature of the reactive oxygen species?” The selective oxidation of propylene is an important model reaction for studying oxidation ...
