Synthesis and characterization of selenium–chondroitin sulfate nanoparticles

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2012
A novel selenium-chondroitin sulfate (SeCS) was synthesized by ultrasonic and dialysis method. With characterization by FTIR, XRD and TEM, the SeCS was found to form nanoparticles in distilled water through a self-aggregation progress. The SeCS nanoparticles had sizes between 30 and 200 nm with selenium entrapment efficiency of about 10.1%.

Biogenesis of Selenium Nanoparticles Using Green Chemistry

Topics in Current Chemistry, 2017
Selenium binds some enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase and thioredoxin reductase, which may be activated in biological infections and oxidative stress. Chemical and physical methods for synthesizing nanoparticles, apart from being expensive, have their own particular risks. However, nanoparticle synthesis through green chemistry is a safe procedure

Chemical Dynamics of Selenium Nanoparticles in Archaeal Systems

ACS Nano
Methanogenic archaea, characterized by their cell membrane lipid molecules consisting of isoprenoid chains linked to glycerol-1-phosphate via ether bonds, exhibit exceptional adaptability to extreme environments. However, this distinct lipid architecture also complicates the interactions between methanogenic archaea and nanoparticles.

A Snapshot of Selenium-enclosed Nanoparticles for the Management of Cancer

Current Pharmaceutical Design
Abstract: Among the primary causes of mortality in today's world is cancer. Many drugs are employed to give lengthy and severe chemotherapy and radiation therapy, like nitrosoureas (Cisplatin, Oxaliplatin), Antimetabolites (5-fluorouracil, Methotrexate), Topoisomerase inhibitors (Etoposide), Mitotic inhibitors (Doxorubicin); such treatment is ...
