Establishment and optimization of the two‐step induction system for generating primordial germ cell‐like cells from chicken embryonic stem cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study optimizes a two‐step induction system to generate PGCLCs from chicken ESCs. The induced cells express germline markers and migrate to gonads in ovo, offering a novel approach for avian genetic resource conservation. Primordial germ cells (PGCs) are the progenitor cells of sperm and eggs.

A DSC approach to adaptive dynamic region‐based tracking control for strict‐feedback non‐linear systems

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2022
As an extension of the conventional set‐point control problem, the dynamic region‐based tracking control scheme with obstacle avoidance is proposed for a class of uncertain strict‐feedback non‐linear systems.

The impact of Hnrnpl deficiency on transcriptional patterns of developing muscle cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We performed nanopore whole‐transcriptome sequencing comparing RNA from Hnrnpl‐knockdown versus control C2C12 myoblasts to investigate the contributions of Hnrnpl to muscle development. Our results indicate that Hnrnpl regulates the expression of genes involved with Notch signaling and skeletal muscle, particularly splicing patterns of specific muscle ...

Levenberg Marquardt artificial neural network model for self‐organising networks implementation in wireless sensor network

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems
The Wireless Sensor Network needs to become a dynamic and adaptive network to conserve energy stored in the wireless sensor network node battery. This dynamic and adaptive network sometimes are called SON (Self Organizing Network).

Adaptive sliding mode disturbance observer–based funnel trajectory tracking control of quadrotor with external disturbances

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This paper studies trajectory tracking control problem of quadrotor in the presence of external disturbances. A new control scheme integrating adaptive sliding mode disturbance observer (ASMDO) with backstepping funnel control is designed in both ...

Mitochondria‐associated membranes (MAMs): molecular organization, cellular functions, and their role in health and disease

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mitochondria‐associated membranes (MAMs) are contact sites between the endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria that regulate calcium signaling, lipid metabolism, autophagy, and stress responses. This review outlines their molecular organization, roles in cellular homeostasis, and how dysfunction drives neurodegeneration, metabolic disease, cancer, and ...

Deep Learning: Our Miraculous Year 1990-1991

open access: yes, 2020
In 2020, we will celebrate that many of the basic ideas behind the deep learning revolution were published three decades ago within fewer than 12 months in our "Annus Mirabilis" or "Miraculous Year" 1990-1991 at TU Munich.
