Rational design of crystalline two-dimensional frameworks with highly complicated topological structures

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Constructing two-dimensional (2D) polymers with complex tessellation patterns is important for the fabrication of advanced materials but achieving such complexity is a great challenge.

Guiding AlphaFold to predict how Munc13‐1 opens Syntaxin‐1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The syntaxin‐1 Habc‐domain (orange), linker (pink) and SNARE motif (yellow) form a closed conformation that binds to Munc18‐1 (violet) and is opened by the Munc13‐1 MUN domain (cyan) to form the SNARE complex that triggers neurotransmitter release.

Creating amphiphilic porosity in two-dimensional covalent organic frameworks via steric-hindrance-mediated precision hydrophilic-hydrophobic microphase separation

open access: yesNature Communications
Creating different pore environments within a covalent organic framework (COF) will lead to useful multicompartment structure and multiple functions, which however has been scarcely achieved.

Mechanism assay of interaction between blood vessels-near infrared probe and cell surface marker proteins of endothelial cells

open access: yesMaterials Today Bio, 2022
In vivo blood vessels imaging is crucial to study blood vessels related diseases in real-time. For this purpose, fluorescent based imaging is one of the utmost techniques for imaging a living system. The discovery of a new near-infrared probe (CyA-B2) by

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

DNA-guided self-assembly in living cells

open access: yesiScience, 2023
Summary: Self-assembly processes exist widely in life systems and play essential roles in maintaining life activities. It is promising to explore the molecular fundamentals and mechanisms of life systems through artificially constructing self-assembly ...

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...

OrthoID: profiling dynamic proteomes through time and space using mutually orthogonal chemical tools

open access: yesNature Communications
Identifying proteins at organelle contact sites, such as mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membranes (MAM), is essential for understanding vital cellular processes, yet challenging due to their dynamic nature.

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Graphene Oxide/Ferrocene-Containing Polymer/Gold Nanoparticle Triple Nanocomposite

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2019
A facile strategy to prepare GO-based nanocomposites with both gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) and ferrocene (Fc) moieties was developed. The surface of GO was modified with PFcMAss homopolymer by surface-initiated atom transfer radical polymerization of a ...
