A transparent, laser‐microscribed glass platform enables cancer diagnosis within 1 h—much faster than histology, which takes days, and free from the chemical or contrast risks of MRI or CT scans. The antibody‐functionalized rough glass surface captures viable cancer cells directly from suspension, allowing instant optical readout and offering a rapid ...

Sulfamide chemistry applied to the functionalization of self-assembled monolayers on gold surfaces
Aniline-terminated self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold surfaces have successfully reacted with ArSO2NHOSO2Ar (Ar = 4-MeC6H4 or 4-FC6H4) resulting in monolayers with sulfamide moieties and different end groups.

STM Studies of Synthetic Peptide Monolayers
We have used scanning probe microscopy to investigate self-assembled monolayers of chemically synthesized peptides. We find that the peptides form a dense uniform monolayer, above which is found a sparse additional layer.

Herein, an RBC membrane‐derived nanoparticle (CMN‐ICG) is engineered to efficiently deliver a sonosensitizing agent, indocyanine green (ICG), for sonotherapy of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CMN‐ICG exhibits excellent cytocompatibility, significantly enhances hepatocyte uptake, and produces excessive reactive oxygen species (ROS) upon ultrasound ...

Strong exciton‐photon coupling is achieved by integrating porphyrin ligand‐based MOF nanoparticles in optical cavities, as evidenced by pronounced polariton branch anticrossing. The porous nature of the resonator enables precise, reversible tuning via vapor pressure, unlocking unprecedented chemical‐environment controlled dynamic polaritonic platforms ...

Phosphorus ionization in silicon doped by self-assembled macromolecular monolayers
Individual dopant atoms can be potentially controlled at large scale by the self-assembly of macromolecular dopant carriers. However, low concentration phosphorus dopants often suffer from a low ionization rate due to defects and impurities introduced by

Nanoscale‐grooved indium gallium oxide (IGO) semiconductors, patterned via thermal nanoimprint lithography (NIL) using CD/DVD templates, are integrated into electrolyte‐gated transistor biosensors to overcome Debye length limitations. Precisely engineered concave–convex nanostructures modulate local electrostatic potentials, extend the effective Debye ...

Endohedral metallofullerenes in self-assembled monolayers
A method has been developed for the attachment of a dithiolane group to endohedral metallofullerenes via a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction. This sulfur-containing functional group serves as an anchor, enabling efficient immobilisation of endohedral fullerenes on Au(111) surfaces at room temperature, directly from the solution phase.

Chiral molecular films as electron polarizers and polarization modulators
Recent experiments on electron scattering through molecular films have shown that chiral molecules can be efficient sources of polarized electrons even in the absence of heavy nuclei as source of a strong spin-orbit interaction.

A robust solid‐state protein junction with a semi‐transparent eC/Au electrode allows photoexcitation of the bacterio‐rhodopsin, bR layer, to isomerize the bR retinal. The resulting photo‐response shows the protein is functional in the solid‐state junction.
