Adjunctive Therapeutic Plasma Exchange in Refractory Adult‐Onset Still's Disease Complicated by Secondary Macrophage Activation Syndrome: A Single‐Center Experience

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Adult‐onset Still's disease (AOSD) complicated by macrophage activation syndrome (MAS) carries substantial mortality. The role of therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) remains uncertain. Methods We retrospectively analyzed patients with AOSD‐MAS treated with TPE at a single‐center.

Analytical calculation of self-inductance for triangular wires [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
The paper presents a relatively easy approach for analytical calculation of the self-inductance for wires of a triangular cross-section. The Kalantarov-Zeitlin approach was applied to develop a new set of formulae.

Design of Low Inductance SiC-MOS/Si-IGBT Hybrid Module for PV Inverters

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics, 2022
In this paper, design of a low parasitic inductance T-type SiC-MOS/Si-IGBT hybrid module for PV inverters is studied. Current commutation loops and self- and mutual inductances model of the hybrid module are analyzed.

A metal object detection system for electric vehicle wireless charging with quadrupole detection coils

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
In the practical application of magnetic coupling wireless charging technology, the absence of direct contact between the receiver and transmitter usually leads to metal objects (MOs) entering the charging area.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

By dawn or dusk—how circadian timing rewrites bacterial infection outcomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The circadian clock shapes immune function, yet its influence on infection outcomes is only beginning to be understood. This review highlights how circadian timing alters host responses to the bacterial pathogens Salmonella enterica, Listeria monocytogenes, and Streptococcus pneumoniae revealing that the effectiveness of immune defense depends not only

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...
