Multi-frequency self injection locking

Advanced Photonics Congress 2023, 2023
We have performed an experimental study on the multi-frequency self-injection locking of a multimode semiconductor laser to a ring microresonator. We deterministically varied the number of locking lines equally spaced by 1 THz.

Self-injection locked phase-locked loop OEO

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave and RF Conference, 2013
A novel optoelectronic oscillator (OED) circuit using self-injection locked phase-locked loop (SILPLL) technique is reported for high frequency stable ultra-low phase noise signal source applications.

Self-injection locked blue laser

Journal of Optics, 2018
We demonstrate a 446.5 nm GaN semiconductor laser with sub-MHz linewidth. The linewidth reduction is achieved by locking the laser to a magnesium fluoride whispering gallery mode resonator characterized with 109 quality factor. Self-injection locking ensures single longitudinal mode operation of the laser.

The self-injection-locked magnetron

2008 IEEE International Vacuum Electronics Conference, 2008
This paper presents a new method of noise reduction in magnetron using self-injection-locking loop. The self-injection-locked magnetron divides into two cases in accordance to filter type: waveguide cavity filter and DR filter. This self-injection-locked magnetron consists of the coupler, high-Q filter (DR filter or waveguide cavity filter), circulator,

Nonlinear Self-Injection Locking: Theory and Experiment

OSA Advanced Photonics Congress (AP) 2020 (IPR, NP, NOMA, Networks, PVLED, PSC, SPPCom, SOF), 2020
The impact of microresonator nonlinearity on the self-injection locking is studied. The theoretical model is developed and confirmed experimentally using a DFB diode locked to a chip-based microresonator. Nontrivial dynamics is uncovered.

The self-injected nonmode-locked picosecond laser

IEEE Journal of Quantum Electronics, 1983
A new type of laser which generates picosecond pulses is presented. 6 ps, ∼ 1 GW, 3 pps, \lambda = 1.06 \mu m in a single pulse are obtained with good stability. Accurate timing of the pulses can be achieved, and no external pulse selection is required.

Integrated Self-Injection Locked Soliton Microcomb Source

2019 Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Europe & European Quantum Electronics Conference (CLEO/Europe-EQEC), 2019
Photonic chip-based dissipative Kerr solitons (DKS), or soliton microcombs, have been successfully used in coherent communication, ultrafast ranging, dual-comb spectroscopy and frequency synthesis [1]. Until recently soliton microcombs have required separate frequency agile lasers [2] and the full photonic integration have been hindered by low Q ...

Self-injection Locked Microcombs in Photonic Crystal Microresonators

CLEO 2023, 2023
Self-injection locking to a photonic crystal ring-microresonator with tailored back-reflection is demonstrated for the first time. The chip-integrated system does not rely on random imperfection-based backscattering and permits deterministic and robust generation of single-soliton microcombs.

Dynamics of self-injection locked multimode diode laser

Semiconductor Lasers and Applications XI, 2021
Modified rate-equations model for a multi-mode semiconductor laser locked to the high-Q microresonator taking Bogatov effect into account is developed. The effects of the symmetric and asymmetric mode interactions are shown.

Frequency Stability Enhancement of Self-Injection Locked Laser

Frontiers in Optics / Laser Science, 2020
We developed a model that enables both a deeper understanding of the salient physical features of the self-injection locking of a laser to high-quality factor WGM microresonator and corresponding improvements of the laser frequency stabilization.
