Biological applications of spectral self-interference
SPIE Proceedings, 2004An original technique, Spectral Self-Interference Fluorescence Microscopy (SSFM), can determine the location of fluorescent markers above a reflecting surface with sub-nanometer precision. SSFM was used to resolve the position of a fluorescent marker bound to either the top or the bottom leaflet of a lipid bilayer -- the difference in distance is only ...

Electrochemiluminescence Self-Interference Spectroscopy with Vertical Nanoscale Resolution
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2020Here we report an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) self-interference spectroscopy technique (designated as ECLIS) with spatial resolution in the normal direction of the electrode surface. Self-interference principally originates from the superposition of ECL emitted directly by luminophores and that reflected from electrode surfaces, resulting in a ...

4Pi Spectral Self-interference Fluorescence Microscopy
Frontiers in Optics, 2006Spectral Self-interference Fluorescence Microscopy using two opposing high numerical aperture objectives is proposed to precisely measure the axial position of fluorescent emitters. 5 nm change in the position of monolayer of fluorescent emitters was measured.

Pollination and self-interference in Nothofagus
Flora - Morphology, Distribution, Functional Ecology of Plants, 2013Abstract Interference between male and female functions within a monoecious plant may hinder crossing and decrease seed set. We assessed the probability of self-pollination and the effect of self-pollination on cross-pollination for two self-incompatible species: Nothofagus obliqua and N. nervosa .

Filter Design for Self-Interference Cancellation
2020Mitigation of self-interference is the prime challenge in making full-duplex technology feasible in wireless communications. In this chapter, we first present system model of a wireless communication link including a source, full-duplex transceiver, and destination, and discuss different approaches and assumptions when building the signal model.

Self-Interference Lloyd's Fiber Interferometer
CLEO:2011 - Laser Applications to Photonic Applications, 2011We proposed an ultracompact, simple and robust in reflection-type of self-interference Lloyd's fiber interferometer based on a diffused-core fiber endface with Sn-overlay. Interference fringes are observed experimentally and investigated for the first time.

Maximum Likelihood Self-Interference Cancellation
2017In this chapter, we propose a maximum likelihood (ML) approach to jointly estimate the self-interference and the intended channels. We perfectly exploit the known transmitted symbols from its own transceiver and both the known pilot and unknown data symbols from the other intended transceiver.

Novel multiplexing technique for reducing self interference
2004 International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37559), 2004Today there is an opinion that the OFDMA method is a better and more efficient solution for cellular systems and next generation wireless LAN. The OFDMA technique uses good frequency efficiency and minimal sensitivity to multipath propagation interference.

Relay self-interference minimisation for QAM signals
2015 Fourth International Conference on Future Generation Communication Technology (FGCT), 2015This paper introduces a self-interference (SI) minimisation technique for amplify and forward (AF) relays. Relays are used to help forward signals between a source and a destination. The AF relay amplifies the signal it receives then transmits it to the destination.

Limiting Factors in Self-Interference Cancellation
2017Various experimental results have stated that the self-interference (SI) in full-duplex communication can be mitigated to properly detect the intended signal. However, relatively little is known about the cancellation limits of these systems. A good SI-cancellation strategy passes first by a proper understanding of the nature of this SI. This is highly
