Relay self interference minimisation using tapped filter

2013 8th International Workshop on Systems, Signal Processing and their Applications (WoSSPA), 2013
In this paper we introduce a self interference (SI) estimation and minimisation technique for amplify and forward relays. Relays are used to help forward signals between a transmitter and a receiver. This helps increase the signal coverage and reduce the required transmitted signal power.

High-resolution spectral self-interference fluorescence microscopy

SPIE Proceedings, 2002
We present a new method of fluorescence imaging, which yields nm-scale axial height determination and ~15 nm axial resolution. The method uses the unique spectral signature of the fluorescent emission intensity well above a reflecting surface to determine vertical position unambiguously.

Smart Self-interference Suppression by Exploiting a Nonlinearity

2013
A 1.8GHz RF amplifier implemented in 0.14um CMOS with frequency-independent blocker suppression is presented. The blocker suppression functionality is obtained by the adaptation of a nonlinear input–output transfer according to the blocker amplitude. Since superposition does not apply to nonlinear transfer functions, the behavior of such a transfer for

Self-interference noise limitations of RFID readers

2015 IEEE International Conference on RFID (RFID), 2015
In this contribution we compute the read range limits of RFID readers also modelling the often ignored self-interference and leakage cancellation effects. The forward link limit is defined by the sensitivity of the tag, while the reverse link limit depends on the ability of the reader to decode the tag message.

Antennas and Radio Frequency Self-Interference Cancellation

2020
This chapter presents and reviews radio frequency (RF) transceiver architectures for in-band full-duplex, spanning both antenna techniques and RF cancellation loops. In the antenna domain, isolation can be achieved using separate transmit and receive antennas, exploiting propagation loss for transmit-to-receive isolation, or through more complicated ...

End-to-End Learned Self-Interference Cancellation

2022 56th Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems, and Computers, 2022
Full-duplex communications systems can transmit and received information at the same time and on the same frequency band. However, they require strong self-interference (SI) cancellation. While a part of this SI cancellation is carried out in the analog domain, in most cases digital SI cancelation is required as well.

Full-duplex bidirectional communication under self-interference

2015 13th International Conference on Telecommunications (ConTEL), 2015
In this paper, we analyze bidirectional communication between two multiple antenna nodes performing half-duplex and full-duplex transmissions. We compare the performance of half-duplex and full-duplex modes in terms of achievable sum rate under finite Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR), while utilizing a realistic, experimentally characterized residual self ...

Techniques of self-interference incoherent digital holography

2015 IEEE 13th International Conference on Industrial Informatics (INDIN), 2015
We discuss and demonstrate our recent developments using self-interference incoherent digital holography to bridge the gap between indispensable incoherent imaging techniques and the advantages of three-dimensional holographic recording. We demonstrate the ability to record broadband sunlit photographic holograms, apply non-invasive three-dimensional ...

Widely-Linear Subspace-Based Self-Interference-Cancellation

2017
This chapter addresses the self-interference (SI) cancellation at baseband for full-duplex MIMO communications systems in consideration of practical transmitter imperfections. In particular, we develop a subspace-based algorithm to jointly estimate the SI and intended channels and the nonlinear distortions.
