SELF-LIMITING EPISODES OF JODBASEDOW

ABSTRACT Four patients with Jodbasedow (iodine-induced hyperthyroidism), who experienced a spontaneous remission of thyrotoxicosis within a few months without specific antithyroid treatment are described. All the patients lived in a non-endemic area and had a nodular goitre.

Self-limited babesiosis in a splenectomized child

This report describes a self-limited babesia infection in a splenectomized child with hereditary spherocytosis. This is the first report of infectious babesiosis in a child and the second case of babesiosis reported on Cape Cod. The infection manifested itself 6 weeks after a 4-hour exposure to Nantucket.

Self-limiting episodes of recurrent thyrotoxicosis

The Lancet, 1971
Summary 5 patients with recurrent thyrotoxicosis experienced a remission without anti-thyroid therapy. The initial episode of thyrotoxicosis was treated with carbimazole, and after completing treatment the patients remained in remission for periods of up to 16 months.

Self‐limited granulomatous angiitis of the cerebellum

AbstractA middle‐aged woman presented with clinical evidence of rapidly progressive cerebellar dysfunction and had radiographic evidence of a cerebellar mass. Biopsy of the lesion disclosed granulomatous angiitis. She recovered completely, the only treatment being dexamethasone given for five days after surgery.
