A microcontroller based self-locking laser system
Review of Scientific Instruments, 2022We present a self-locking laser system that does not require operator interventions. The system automatically finds a desired atomic transition and subsequently locks to it. Moreover, it has the ability to automatically detect if the laser is out of lock and activate the re-locking process.

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 1995By reviewing a very old patent on self-locking central wheel nuts, this paper explains why present-day racing car wheels sometimes come loose and why their behaviour appears to be erratic. Experimental work confirms the conclusions drawn. The solution to the problem lies in reverting to the concept described in the original patent.
