Self-Locking of Modes in Lasers
Journal of Applied Physics, 1967We investigated phase-locking effects between longitudinal modes in lasers. In order to show the general trend to be expected for a large number of oscillating modes, we treat three-, four-, and five-mode oscillations. The expected phases depend in a complicated manner upon the relaxation times T1 and T2 of the medium, on the degree of inhomogeneous ...

Mode self-locking in gas lasers
Journal of Physics A: General Physics, 1968The Lamb theory of mode self-locking in gas lasers is approximated to provide criteria for self-locking to occur in practical systems. It is predicted that self-locking should be fairly easily attained in the He-Ne 1.15 mu m and 0.633 mu m lasers, and this is confirmed by experiment.

Self-locking polyphase transistor-magnetic inverters
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1961A number of methods for phase-locking a group of two or more single-phase transistor-magnetic inverters have been described in the literature since 1955.1?3 Phase displacement between inverters in most cases depends upon supplementary reactors which add to the cost and complexity of the circuit.

Optical self-locking of semiconductor lasers
Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1987We report on recent advances made with an optical self-locking technique that is used to stabilize the frequency of semiconductor lasers. The self-locking of the lasers to separate stable Fabry-Perot cavities is achieved by arranging to have optical feedback only at the resonance of the reference cavity.

An automatic self-locking n.m.r. gaussmeter
Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1971An all solid-state automatic self-locking n.m.r. gaussmeter is described covering a magnetic field range of 2700-4000 G. The introduction of integral control reduces the static error and avoids the use of mechanical links. Sweep rates of up to 100 G s-1 can be followed. An automatic search-lock circuit is also provided.

Experimental Aspects Concerning Self-locking Angle
2009Self-locking is a phenomenon that occurs both in lower pairs and higher pairs, being quantified by the self-locking angle; it occurs due to friction forces, depending directly on normal forces from mechanism pairs. The paper presents some preliminary experimental aspects regarding the influence of different parameters (bushing geometry and material ...

A Self-Locking Electrostatic Microgripper
JST: Smart Systems and DevicesThe paper presents design, calculation, and simulation of a novel electrostatically actuated microgripper with a self-locking mechanism. The working principle of the electrostatic comb-drive actuator (ECA) is based on the tangential electrostatic force when applying a voltage between two capacitors.

Dynamics of permanent self-locking systems
Journal of Mechanisms, 1969Abstract An attempt is made to explain the properties of a certain class of self-locking kinematic pairs with backlash. Such pairs provide unilateral bounds, when they are present in complex mechanical systems, and can cause temporary changes in the structure and mobility of the system.
