Possibilities of use of self-pollinated lines for creating of synthetic hemp populations [PDF]

open access: yesBast and Technical Crops, 2018
It has been proved that it is possible to create a new breeding material or increase the productivity of an existing one by obtaining stable self-pollinated lines on its basis, followed by their free pollination and propagation according to a specially developed technique (by the type of creation of a synthetic variety). Moreover, at the initial stages

Cytological and molecular characterization of wheat lines with Thinopyrum intermedium chromosome additions, substitutions and translocations resistant to barley yellow dwarf virus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) is the most serious viral disease affecting wheat and genes for BYDV resistance have not been found in wheat. BYDV-resistant alien addition and alien substitution lines produced from a wheat × Thinopyrum intermedium ...

Study of correlations between yield inheritance and resistance of corn self-pollinating lines and hybrids to pathogens [PDF]

open access: yesUkrainian Journal of Ecology, 2020
The results of the gradation grouping of corn hybrids showed that among the self-pollinating lines of the working collection 28.0% had a high crop, 50.0% had an average yield and 22.0% had a low yield. At the same time 10.5% of simple hybrids belonged to the group with high crop, 54.6% – to that with an average one and 34.9% – to low yielders. The fact

The impact of morphometric characteristics of plants self-pollinated sunflower lines on its lodging

open access: yesOil Crops, 2020
We carried out the research in 2018-2019 at the experimental station of V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops. The aim of the research is to study the effect of certain morphometric characteristics of the overground part of plants and the architectonics of the root system on the sunflower lodging.

Enhancement of developmental defects in the boron‐deficient maize mutant tassel‐less1 by reduced auxin levels

open access: yesJournal of Plant Nutrition and Soil Science, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Background Plant responses to deficiencies of the micronutrient boron are diverse and go beyond the well‐characterized function of boron in cell wall crosslinking. To explain these phenotypic discrepancies, hypotheses about interactions of boron with various phytohormones have been proposed, particularly auxin.

The initial analysis of the ability for the generative propagation and the level of self-incompatibility of inbred lines of chinese cabbage (Brassica rapa ssp. Pekinensis)

open access: yesJournal of Horticultural Research, 2013
In the years of 2011 and 2013, seventeen inbred lines of Chinese cabbage were evaluated according to the ability for the generative propagation and the expression of self-incompatibility.

The olfactory basis of orchid pollination by mosquitoes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Mosquitoes are important vectors of disease and require sources of carbohydrates for reproduction and survival. Unlike host-related behaviors of mosquitoes, comparatively less is understood about the mechanisms involved in nectar-feeding decisions, or ...
