MAIN TRENDS OF MAIZE BREEDING IN ARRIGC NAMED AFTER I.G. KALINENKO
The main trends of the breeding of new corn hybrids in ARRIGC are the breeding of the hybrids with tolerance to drought, high water yielding capacity of the grain during ripening, high contents of starch in grain, breeding for ensilage and green forage ...

The maize BTB/POZ‐MATH (BPM) protein ZmBPM1 interacts with autophagy‐related protein ZmATG6 to relocate the NLR protein Rp1‐D21 from the nucleo‐cytoplasmic compartment into autophagosome‐like puncta, leading to autophagy‐mediated turnover and suppressing the hypersensitive response.

ABSTRACT We conducted two framed field economic experiments with citrus farmers in Florida, United States and soybean farmers in Argentina to investigate their willingness to coordinate pest and weed management efforts. Despite the contrast between these two agricultural contexts, we find striking behavioral commonalities.

BREEDING OF SIMPLE MODIFIED MAIZE HYBRIDS ON SISTER CROSSINGS
According to the amount of self-pollinated lines we distinguish such main types of maize hybrids as simple interline, three-line and double interline ones. Simple interline hybrids are considered to be the most productive and stable.

Abstract While multiple factors explain low adoption rates of improved varieties by small‐scale farmers in sub‐Saharan Africa, a key supply‐side constraint is the limited availability of seed embodying new traits in the volume, quality, price, and timeliness required by farmers. This constraint is partly attributable to classical failures in the market

Estimation of drought resistance of self-pollinated maize lines by the residual water deficit method
Relevance. Breeding for drought resistance is one of the most important areas of maize breeding due to the increasing climate aridity and the location of maize crops in areas with unstable and insufficient moisture.Methods. Field and laboratory trials were conducted at the “Agricultural Research Center “Donskoy” in 2011–2013, 2015–2023.

Abstract Premise Changing climates are leading to more frequent and severe heat waves, potentially threatening plant populations. Both acclimation to stress and selection for heat‐escape or heat‐resistance phenotypes occur during heat waves. However, plastic responses and selection do not necessarily interact cohesively—even producing trait responses ...

Beyond the green solvent paradigm, this review redefines Deep Eutectic Systems (DES) as programmable supramolecular nanoassemblies. We survey their biomedical convergence: stabilizing thermolabile mRNA to enable cold chain‐free logistics, reshaping transdermal microneedle delivery, enabling long‐term wearables via eutectogels, and utilizing Generative ...

Abstract The intertwined crises of climate change, biodiversity loss and environmental degradation represent profound global challenges. Education holds a unique role in enabling all young people to navigate uncertainty, participate meaningfully in decision‐making and contribute to more just and sustainable ways of living.
