Standardization requirements for self-quantification services over Internet of things
2016 International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communication Engineering (ICACCE), 2016Self-quantification services are applications of Internet of things (IoT) that quantitatively record almost all aspects of human life and surrounding environment in order to understand his or her various status by analyzing the relationship of collected data. The authors introduce the overview and the challenges of self-quantification services.

Four Ironies of Self-quantification: Wearable Technologies and the Quantified Self
Science and Engineering Ethics, 2020Bainbridge's well known "Ironies of Automation" (in: Johannsen, Rijnsdorp (eds) Analysis, design and evaluation of man-machine systems. Elsevier, Amsterdam, pp 129-135, 1983. https://doi.org/10.1016/B978-0-08-029348-6.50026-9) laid out a set of fundamental criticisms surrounding the promises of automation that, even 30 years later, remain both relevant

Coupling Quantified Bodies: Transformative Play Through Self-Quantification
2017One of the promises behind self-quantification is to transform the ways in which we live our lives through the collection of numerical evidence about the body and its activity. Although this process may boost self-knowledge, everyday life involves a complex network of relationships with other bodies that exert a significant, sometimes determining ...

« Goût de liberté » et self-quantification
Réseaux, 2018À partir d’un corpus de 50 entretiens semi-directifs menés en milieu modeste, l’article expose une analyse des perceptions et appropriations des outils de self-quantification « Alimentation/Activité physique » dans les catégories populaires. L’article souligne une adhésion limitée à l’usage des outils de self-tracking en milieu modeste et, s’appuyant ...

Self-monitoring experiments are becoming increasingly common as it is the case in other complex environments their interpretation and reproducibility relies heavily in the amount of associated meta-data available. In this work we propose a standardised reporting guideline to annotate these experiments and facilitate their interpretation.

Comparative Evaluation of Two Systems for Integrating Biometric Data from Self-quantification
2015A layperson can accumulate a large volume of biometric data using the self quantification tools available in the consumer electronics market. However to derive insight, one must be able to integrate data types in order to identify patterns that emerge. This paper compares the practicalities of integrating biometric data from self-quantification, using ...
