Self-similarity has been treated recently in connection with the study of fractals; so the paper seems to be very actual. In Section 1 a self- similar set is defined as a compact set which is the union of its images under members of a collection of contractions (indexed by a compact set) having a common contradictivity factor.

Self-similarity of friction laws [PDF]
The change of the friction law from a mesoscopic level to a macroscopic level is studied in the spring-block models introduced by Burridge-Knopoff. We find that the Coulomb law is always scale invariant. Other proposed scaling laws are only invariant under certain conditions.}

PICALM::MLLT10 translocated leukemia
This comprehensive review of PICALM::MLLT10 translocated acute leukemia provides an in‐depth review of the structure and function of CALM, AF10, and the fusion oncoprotein (1). The multifaceted molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis, including nucleocytoplasmic shuttling (2), epigenetic modifications (3), and disruption of endocytosis (4), are then ...

Nonlinear effects and numerical results in salt transfer problems [PDF]
In this paper, numerical solutions of the nonlinear equations of dust and salt transference processes are considered. The phenomenon of finite propagation velocity, dust disturbances, and groundwater filtration is established on the basis of self-similar

Self-Similarity Driven Color Demosaicking [PDF]
Demosaicking is the process by which from a matrix of colored pixels measuring only one color component per pixel, red, green, or blue, one can infer a whole color information at each pixel. This inference requires a deep understanding of the interaction between colors, and the involvement of image local geometry.

Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Study on self-similar call admission control algorithm in WiM AX
As to the self-similarity of WiMAX network traffic,M/Pareto model was proposed to model network traf-fic.Through the statistical nature between the M/Pareto model and FBM traffic model,the parameters of the M/Pareto were mapped to the ones of FBM traffic
