Multilayer Self‐Limiting Electrospray Deposition via Stepped Voltage Bias

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Self‐limiting electrospray deposition (SLED) uses a high voltage to generate and deposit a charged payload on a target surface. The coating retains its charge, repelling newly arriving material. SLED thickness can be decreased by applying a secondary bias to the target.

On an extension of class of self-similar processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Self-similar processes are very natural generalization of stable Levy Motions, we introduce the new class of stochastic processes which are the analogous generalization of pseudostable Levy Motions which arise in Gnedenko ...

Electrofacies-driven 3D-static reservoir modeling of the Late Cenomanian AbuRoash’G Member (Abu-Gharadig Basin, Egypt): Sequence stratigraphic and geomodel constraints for a gas-bearing estuarine system

open access: yesPetroleum Research
Estuarine-systems, developed upon transgressive-phases, feature high-quality reservoir-facies, e.g. tidal-bars, that are important stratigraphic-plays critical for hydrocarbon exploration-development.

Intermediate Resistive State in Wafer‐Scale Vertical MoS2 Memristors Through Lateral Silver Filament Growth for Artificial Synapse Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In MOCVD MoS2 memristors, a current compliance‐regulated Ag filament mechanism is revealed. The filament ruptures spontaneously during volatile switching, while subsequent growth proceeds vertically through the MoS2 layers and then laterally along the van der Waals gaps during nonvolatile switching.

Self-similarity in Touch with Stochastic Process

open access: yes, 2017
Partial differential representation of self-similarity feature has been derived from notion of the homogenous function in general sense. This representation allows consideration of stochastic self-similar systems. As well as the partial differential representation allows consideration of Stochastic Partial Differential Equation.

Mimicking Silent Synapse Recruitment: A SiOx/Cu‐Pancake Memristive Device For Analog Neuromorphic Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroforming‐free TiN/SiOx/Cu/SiOx/TiN memristive devices exploit pancake‐like Cu nanoparticles embedded in a SiOx double layer to create a heterogeneous Schottky‐barrier landscape. Under bias, oxygen‐vacancy redistribution progressively lowers local barriers and recruits initially inactive Cu‐PC pathways into a parallel conduction ensemble, enabling

Monolithic Oxidation Enables Ultrathin Vertically Graded Tantalum Oxide for Low‐Voltage, Low‐Variability Memristive Switching

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Monolithic UV‐ozone oxidation of Ta forms an ultrathin Ta2O5/TaOx bilayer enabling resistive switching with a vertical defect gradient. A stoichiometric surface layer over an oxygen‐deficient sublayer promotes localized filament nucleation near the top interface, enabling low‐voltage operation, and reduced cycle‐to‐cycle variability.

Elliptic Self-Similar Stochastic Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Let M be a random measure and L be an elliptic pseudo-differential operator on Rd. We study the solution of the stochastic problem LX = M, X(O) = O when some homogeneity and integrability conditions are assumed.

Biomimetic Microfractals Based Flexible Triboelectric Nanogenerators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A leaf‐skeleton‐based microfractal architecture is integrated with guided CuNW networks and biomimetic triboelectric polymer layers, enabling breathable, flexible, and material‐efficient triboelectric nanogenerators. The resulting system combines enhanced charge generation and charge transport, offering potential for next‐generation self‐powered ...

Utilizing self-similar stochastic processes to model rare events in finance

open access: yes, 2021
Coming from a sphere in statistics and mathematics in which the Normal distribution is the dominating underlying stochastic term for the majority of the models, we indicate that the relevant diffusion, the Brownian Motion, is not accounting for three crucial empirical observations for financial data: Heavy tails, long memory and scaling laws.
