From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

On the Impacts of the Global Sea Level Dynamics

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
The temporal evolution of the global mean sea level (GMSL) is investigated in the present analysis using the monthly mean values obtained from two sources: a reconstructed dataset and a satellite altimeter dataset.

Self-similarity

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 1993
Self-similarity has been treated recently in connection with the study of fractals; so the paper seems to be very actual. In Section 1 a self- similar set is defined as a compact set which is the union of its images under members of a collection of contractions (indexed by a compact set) having a common contradictivity factor.

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...

Multimodal Weak Texture Remote Sensing Image Matching Based on Normalized Structural Feature Transform

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Significant nonlinear radiation differences and weak texture differences exist between multimodal weak texture remote sensing images (MWTRSIs). When using traditional methods to match MWTRSIs, the low distinguishability of descriptors in weak texture ...

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Numerical and Analytical Modeling of Damage Accumulation Processes and Evolution of Stress-Strain State at the Crack Tip in Creep Mode

open access: yesМеханика машин, механизмов и материалов
The work is devoted to the study and analysis of finite element (FE) calculations performed by a large cycle of computational experiments of plate deformation with a section under steady-state creep conditions, which revealed a power-law self-similar ...
