FastCat: Autonomous Discovery of Multielement Layered Double Hydroxide Alloy Catalysts for Alkaline Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
A machine learning‐guided self‐driving laboratory screened over 500 nickel‐based layered double‐hydroxide catalysts for alkaline oxygen evolution. Out of the eight metals, the robot uncovered a quaternary Ni–Fe–Cr–Co catalysts requiring only 231 mV overpotential to reach 20 mA cm−2.

Screw removal torque data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This is an excel sheet with the peak removal torque values for each screw position in the plate. The peak removal torque values are divided between the non-self-tapping (NST) screws and self-tapping (ST) screws.

Pre‐Curved Everting Robots With Embedded Steering Intelligence Fabricated by CO2 Laser Welding

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Design and experimental demonstration of a laser welded growing robot for anatomically guided navigation. The robot follows an aortic arch phantom entering the branchiocephalic branch through steering by design. The figure shows the physical phantom setup, CAD defined weld geometry and full robot eversion.

Time‐Delayed Spiking Reservoir Computing Enables Efficient Time Series Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This study proposes time‐delayed spiking reservoir computing (TDSRC) for efficient time series prediction. By concatenating time‐lagged states, TDSRC constructs an expanded readout feature vector without altering internal reservoir dynamics. This approach enables highly accurate forecasting with significantly fewer neurons, providing a resource ...

Structural Pieces Rehabilitation with Self-Tapping Screws

open access: yesInternational Journal of Materials Engineering, 2017
Timber is one of the oldest raw materials in construction, due to their availability worldwide, and the ease of using it. The majority of buildings in Brazil, until the Industrial Revolution, utilized this material as main input, rooting most of our cultural heritage in it.

Failure Methods, Clamp Load, and Heat in Self-Tapping Screw Insertion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
A self-tapping screw is a high-strength one-piece fastener that is driven into preformed holes. The goal of the MQP completed by Leo et al. and the 2006 Research Experience for Undergraduates in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics completed by Miller ...

The Acromioclavicular‐Distal Clavicle 3‐Dimensional All‐Suture Stabilization Technique Without Need for Fluoroscopy and Without Metallic Hardware

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The acromioclavicular joint's intricate biomechanics and anatomy pose significant challenges in its repair. The “Acromioclavicular‐Distal Clavicle 3‐Dimensional All‐Suture Stabilization Technique” uses unicortical self‐punching all‐suture anchors, which reduce nerve damage risks.

What is a curriculum for life? Using youth participatory action research and applied arts to understand and amplify undergraduate students', children's and young people's mental health and wellbeing recommendations for education

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Mental health is a critical issue globally, with young people being one of the most affected groups. Young people have campaigned vehemently for a ‘curriculum for life,’ arguing that their education is failing to meet their needs (British Council, 2022).

Effects of Wall‐to‐Floor Interactions on Seismic Response of Platform‐Type CLT Buildings

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platform‐type cross‐laminated timber (CLT) buildings feature discontinuous wall segments supported by CLT floors. In practice, CLT floors are often treated as rigid diaphragm, yet the wall‐to‐floor interactions (WFIs) associated with flexibility of floors remain insufficiently investigated during seismic performance assessment.
