A measure of self-care self-efficacy

Strategies Used by People to Promote Health (SUPPH), a 29-item self-report, is a measure of self-care self-efficacy. Items for the SUPPH were empirically generated, validated by an expert panel, and tested (N = 275) for psychometric properties, factor composition, and convergent and discriminant evidence with existing scales.

Effects of student motivation on performance in Web-based instruction (WBI) were examined. In particular, applicability of the self-efficacy theory to WBI contexts was tested. A total of 152 junior high school students in Seoul, Korea, participated in WBI during regular science classes.

Abstract Consistent with voluminous research, this chapter shows that political efficacy is related to political participation. Victims who considered themselves politically informed and considered demonstrating or protesting to be effective mechanisms to address dissatisfaction were more likely to engage in political action.
