Improving the Robustness of Visual Teach‐and‐Repeat Navigation Using Drift Error Correction and Event‐Based Vision for Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Visual teach‐and‐repeat (VTR) navigation allows robots to learn and follow routes without building a full metric map. We show that navigation accuracy for VTR can be improved by integrating a topological map with error‐drift correction based on stereo vision.

Semantic Web

open access: yes, 2009
The Semantic Web is a vision of a web of linked data, allowing querying, integration and sharing of data from distributed sources in heterogeneous formats, using ontologies to provide an associated and explicit semantic interpretation.

ODESWS, A Semantic Web Service Development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
ODE SWS is a development environment to design Semantic Web Services (SWS) at the knowledge level. ODE SWS describe the service following a problem-solving approach in which the SWS are modeled using tasks, to represent the SWS functional features, and ...

Large Scale Integration of Senses for the Semantic Web [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Nowadays, the increasing amount of semantic data available on the Web leads to a new stage in the potential of Semantic Web applications. However, it also introduces new issues due to the heterogeneity of the available semantic resources.

Continual Learning for Multimodal Data Fusion of a Soft Gripper

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Models trained on a single data modality often struggle to generalize when exposed to a different modality. This work introduces a continual learning algorithm capable of incrementally learning different data modalities by leveraging both class‐incremental and domain‐incremental learning scenarios in an artificial environment where labeled data is ...

A comparison of graph construction techniques for applying graph signal processing to soil moisture networks

open access: yesDiscover Computing
Sensor networks let a farmer keep their eye on multiple locations in an agricultural field simultaneously but can be expensive to install, maintain and analyse.

Multimodal Engagement Assessment in Children During Invented Story Paradigm With a Social Robot

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal framework is proposed to assess children's engagement during storytelling interactions with a social robot. Gaze, physiological, and behavioral data are combined and validated against observer ratings. An automated gaze‐labeling strategy is introduced, and supervised classifiers achieve high accuracy. The study supports scalable engagement

The Collaborative Semantic Grid

open access: yes, 2006
Grid and Semantic Web technologies both enable heterogeneous resources to be joined up to achieve new functionality and capability, and their combined effectiveness has been demonstrated through a number of ‘Semantic Grid’ projects. These typically apply
