This paper presents a lidar‐based sensor node design and a rule‐based state observer for edge‐based traffic participant tracking. Unlike other state‐of‐the‐art methods, this state observer enables real‐time, CPU‐only edge processing without relying on machine learning approaches.

Four decades of retinal vessel segmentation research (1982–2025) are synthesized, spanning classical image processing, machine learning, and deep learning paradigms. A meta‐analysis of 428 studies establishes a unified taxonomy and highlights performance trends, generalization capabilities, and clinical relevance.

Capturing lexical variation in MT evaluation using automatically built sense-cluster inventories [PDF]
The strict character of most of the existing Machine Translation (MT) evaluation metrics does not permit them to capture lexical variation in translation.

This paper presents a high‐speed object pose estimation method that deconstructs objects into geometric components. Inspired by human cognitive generalization, it detects these primitives and infers the 6D pose from their stable spatial configuration.

An “Author Fluency Task”: Semantic fluency as predictor of L2 vocabulary knowledge
Reading experience provides critical input for language learning. This is typically quantified via estimates of print exposure, such as the Author Recognition Test (ART), although it may be unreliable in L2. This study introduces the Author Fluency Task (AFT) as an alternative measure, comparing with ART for assessing knowledge of English discourse ...

Overview of the proposed Gate‐Align‐SED, including two stages of training: (1) Mean‐Teacher SSL Training; and (2) Enhancer Model Training. In complex real‐world environments such as disaster monitoring, effective sound event detection (SED) is often hindered by the presence of noise and limited labeled data.
