Vascular endothelial‐cadherin as a marker of endothelial injury in preclinical Alzheimer disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, Volume 9, Issue 12, Page 1926-1940, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective Endothelial dysfunction is an early and prevalent pathology in Alzheimer disease (AD). We here investigate the value of vascular endothelial‐cadherin (VEC) as a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) marker of endothelial injury in preclinical AD.

Stacked Siamese Neural Network (SSiNN) on Neural Codes for Content-Based Image Retrieval

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) represents a class of problems that aims at finding relevant images in response to an image-based search query. The CBIR systems use similarity measures or distance metrics between a group of representative features ...

Bridging the Gap: Query by Semantic Example [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Multimedia, 2007
A combination of query-by-visual-example (QBVE) and semantic retrieval (SR), denoted as query-by-semantic-example (QBSE), is proposed. Images are labeled with respect to a vocabulary of visual concepts, as is usual in SR. Each image is then represented by a vector, referred to as a semantic multinomial, of posterior concept probabilities.

Resource allocation for text semantic communications [PDF]

open access: yesin IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, vol. 11, no. 7, pp. 1394-1398, July 2022, 2022
Semantic communications have shown its great potential to improve the transmission reliability, especially in the low signal-to-noise regime. However, resource allocation for semantic communications still remains unexplored, which is a critical issue in guaranteeing the semantic transmission reliability and the communication efficiency.

Cograph Regularized Collective Nonnegative Matrix Factorization for Multilabel Image Annotation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Automatic image annotation is an effective and straightforward way to facilitate many applications in computer vision. However, manually annotating images is a computation-expensive and labor-intensive task. To address these problems, this paper proposes

Exploring the semantic gap in compiling embedded DSLs [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 18th International Conference on Embedded Computer Systems: Architectures, Modeling, and Simulation, 2018
Optimizing compilers provide valuable contributions to the quality of processed code. The vast majority of application developers rely on those capabilities to obtain binary code efficiently utilizing processing resources. However, compiler proficiency is frequently misjudged by application developers. While for some constellations the effectiveness of
