The Necessity of Dynamic Workflow Managers for Advancing Self‐Driving Labs and Optimizers

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We assess the maturity and integration readiness of key methodologies for Materials Acceleration Platforms, highlighting the need for dynamic workflow managers. Demonstrating this, we integrate PerQueue into a color‐mixing robot, showing how flexible orchestration improves coordination and optimization.

A Partition-Based Semantics for Deontic Modals

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology
Kolodny and MacFarlane (“Ifs and oughts,” JPhil 107(3)) and MacFarlane (Assessment sensitivity, Chapter 11) describe the distinctive behavior of deontic modals in deliberation. They highlight two main features that any semantic theory should account for.

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...

Multi modal multi-semantic image retrieval

open access: yes, 2010
PhDThe rapid growth in the volume of visual information, e.g. image, and video can overwhelm users’ ability to find and access the specific visual information of interest to them.

Large Language Model in Materials Science: Roles, Challenges, and Strategic Outlook

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Large language models (LLMs) are reshaping materials science. Acting as Oracle, Surrogate, Quant, and Arbiter, they now extract knowledge, predict properties, gauge risk, and steer decisions within a traceable loop. Overcoming data heterogeneity, hallucinations, and poor interpretability demands domain‐adapted models, cross‐modal data standards, and ...

A Survey of Tripartite Modern Paradigms in Informatology [PDF]

open access: yesتحقیقات اطلاع‌رسانی و کتابخانه‌های عمومی, 2008
The focal question in the field of informatology is the nature of information. Modern informatological theories can be grouped in three paradigms, i.e. mathematical-natural paradigm, semantic paradigm and cognitive paradigm.

Automating AI Discovery for Biomedicine Through Knowledge Graphs and Large Language Models Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This work proposes a novel framework that automates biomedical discovery by integrating knowledge graphs with multiagent large language models. A biologically aligned graph exploration strategy identifies hidden pathways between biomedical entities, and specialized agents use this pathway to iteratively design AI predictors and wet‐lab validation ...

Cell Segmentation Beyond 2D—A Review of the State‐of‐the‐Art

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Cell segmentation underpins many biological image analysis tasks, yet most deep learning methods remain limited to 2D despite the inherently 3D nature of cellular processes. This review surveys segmentation approaches beyond 2D, comparing 2.5D and fully 3D methods, analyzing 31 models and 32 volumetric datasets, and introducing a unified reference ...
