Geographical Expression of Semantic Relations

2011 Seventh International Conference on Semantics, Knowledge and Grids, 2011
This paper presents a method of how to produce a calculate and express spatial relations by a set of parameters. A new set of parameters more easily to understand and use is proposed based on two semantic meanings. Also the Voronoi diagram's application in neighbor relations is discussed.

Update semantics for multilevel relations

[1990] Proceedings of the Sixth Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, 2002
A formal operational semantics is given for update operations on multilevel relations, i.e., relations in which individual data elements are classified at different levels. For this purpose, the familiar INSERT, UPDATE and DELETE operations of SQL are suitably generalized to cope with polyinstantiation.

Relational Semantics Through Duality

2006
In this paper we show how the classical duality results extended to a Duality via Truth contribute to development of a relational semantics for various modal-like logics. In particular, we present a Duality via Truth for some classes of information algebras and frames. We also show that the full categorical formulation of classical duality extends to a

The relations of logic and semantics to ontology

Journal of Philosophical Logic, 1974
We have employed our semantical theory to investigate the matter of the ontological commitment of logic and semantics, and have found the following results: (i) The logical predicates, such as “or” and “entials”, are about statements not about any other objects.

Semantics for Mapping Relations in SKOS

2013
SKOS (Simple Knowledge Organisation System) is a W3C Recommendation for sharing and linking structured vocabularies - taxonomies, thesauri, classification schemes, etc. - via theWeb [1]. Since the SKOS specification leaves the semantics of SKOS rather open, large modeling projects may specialise SKOS with informal modeling guidelines that narrow down ...

Temporal Relational Semantic Systems

2010
In this paper we introduce the notion of a Temporal Relational Semantic System (TRSS) as a relational extension of a Temporal Conceptual Semantic System (TCSS) as defined by the author in 2007. TCSSs allow to represent states of distributed objects in concept lattices of specified views, the TRSSs enable the user to work in a conceptually simple way ...
