Semi rigid connections and their influence on steel column behaviour. [PDF]
A review of the development of the analysis of frames with semi-rigid end restraint is given, including the treatment of frame stability and effective lengths. The available experimental data relating to the moment versus in-plane

Unraveling the Electronic Structure of Silicon Vacancy Centers in 4H‐SiC
The electronic structure of the silicon vacancy in 4H‐SiC is probed via transient absorption spectroscopy, uncovering previously inaccessible excited states of the quartet and doublet spin channels, including the V2' transition. In combination with theoretical analysis, a comprehensive picture of the electronic structure is established.

Finite element based surface roughness study for ohmic contact of microswitches [PDF]
Finite element method (FEM) is used to model ohmic contact in microswitches. A determinist approach is adopted, including atomic force microscope (AFM) scanning real contact surfaces and generating rough surfaces with three-dimensional mesh.

Chiral Phase Change Nanomaterials
This work demonstrates reversible, non‐volatile phase transitions in chiral Ge2${\rm Ge}_2$Sb2${\rm Sb}_2$Te5${\rm Te}_5$ (GST) nanohelices for high‐speed optical modulation of chirality and dynamic control of the state of polarization (SOP). The chiral nanostructures are fabricated using a highly directional, wafer‐scale physical vapor deposition ...

A low/high frequency combined approach for the identification of mechanical properties of composite structural elements [PDF]
A combined low/high frequency dynamic identification approach is presented. The proposed hybrid technique compares experimentally extracted dynamic properties of plates such as modal frequencies and guided wave dispersion properties with the ...

Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...
