Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Comparison of the method of variation of parameters to semi-analytical methods for solving nonlinear boundary value problems in engineering

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2019
Solutions to nonlinear boundary value problems modelling physical phenomena in engineering applications have traditionally been approximated using numerical methods.

Tip Pressure on Semicircular Specimens in Tapping Mode Atomic Force Microscopy in Viscous Fluid Environments

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Tapping mode (TM) atomic force microscopy (AFM) in a liquid environment is widely used to measure the contours of biological specimens. The TM triggers the AFM probe approximately at the resonant frequencies and controls the tip such that it periodically

A semi-analytical method for plate and grid structures [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers - Engineering and Computational Mechanics, 2008
In current design practice, analysis of plate and grid structures in civil engineering, such as waffle slabs, ribbed plates and slab-girder bridges, is based largely on code-specified approximate methods, and deflections of these systems are rarely evaluated owing to the complexity of calculations. A semi-analytical method is presented for bending and

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Optimization of Hoop Layouts for Reducing Vibration Amplitude of Pipeline System Using the Semi-Analytical Model and Genetic Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The pipeline system on the outside of aero-engine needs to work in resonance environment in some cases, therefore, it is necessary to reduce the vibration amplitude of pipeline systems to improve the reliability in the dynamic design stage. In this paper,

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Some of Semi Analytical Methods for Blasius Problem

open access: yesApplied Mathematics, 2012
In this paper, the Adomian methods, differential transform methods, and Taylor series methods are applied to non-linear differential equations which is called Blasius problem in fluid mechanics. The solutions of the Blasius problem for two cases are obtained by using these methods and their results are shown in table.

Nonlinear Semi-Analytic Method for Spacecraft Navigation [PDF]

open access: yesAIAA/AAS Astrodynamics Specialist Conference and Exhibit, 2006
A nonlinear semi-analytic flltering method to sequentially estimate spacecraft states and their associated uncertainties is presented. We flrst discuss the state transition tensors that characterize the localized nonlinear behavior of the spacecraft trajectory and illustrate the importance of higher order efiects on orbit uncertainty propagation.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...
