Semi-analytic model for dispersion relation of nanowire lasers [PDF]
In this paper, a semi-analytical model for the dispersion relation of nanowire lasers is presented. The approach which is based on the multi-conductor transmission line modeling, makes use of the Fourier expansion technique. The cross-section of the nanowire is assumed to be hexagonally-shaped.

A Semi-Analytical Model for the Binaural Coherence of Noise Fields [PDF]
A novel semi-analytical signal processing model for the binaural coherence of homogeneous isotropic noise fields is presented in this contribution. This is derived from a simplified geometrical model of the human head, where the shadowing between the left and right ear is modeled by two nonreflecting circular plates.

Fluidelastic instability (FEI) is widely recognized as the most destructive flow-induced vibration (FIV) mechanism in tube bundles. FEI has been linked to a number of steam generator heat transfer tube failures in pressurized water reactors, which can ...

xkn: a semi-analytic framework for the modelling of kilonovae
ABSTRACT After GW170817, kilonovae have become of great interest for the astronomical, astrophysics, and nuclear physics communities due to their potential in revealing key information on the compact binary merger from which they emerge, such as the fate of the central remnant or the composition of the expelled material.
