Accelerated HPSTM: An efficient semi-analytical technique for the solution of nonlinear PDE’s

open access: yesNonlinear Engineering, 2020
In this paper a novel technique i.e. accelerated homotopy perturbation Sumudu transformation method (AHPSTM), which is a hybrid of accelerated homotopy perturbation method and Sumudu transformation to obtain an approximate analytic solution of nonlinear ...

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...

A Study of Singular Similarity Solutions to Laplace’s Equation with Dirichlet Boundary Conditions

open access: yesAppliedMath
The infinite series solution to the boundary-value problems of Laplace’s equation with discontinuous Dirichlet boundary conditions was found by using the basic method of separation of variables.

A Semi-Analytical Method for the Solution of Helmholtz Equation

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics and Physics, 2013
This note is concerned with a semi-analytical method for the solution of 2-D Helmholtz equation in unit square. The method uses orthogonal functions to project the problem down to finite dimensional space. After the projection, the problem simplifies to that of obtaining solutions for second order constant coefficient differential equations which ...

Semi-analytical solution of initial-value problems

open access: yes, 2007
A fully spectral weighted residual method for solution of general initial value partial differential equations has been developed. All time, spatial and physical parameter domains are represented by Chebyshev series, enabling global semi-analytical ...

Investigating the suitability of Analytical and Semi-analytical Satellite theories for Space Object Catalogue maintenance in Geosynchronous regime

open access: yes, 2013
Currently, the number of space debris particles is about 33,500, out of which approximately 1100 are in geosynchronous orbits, which are tracked and whose orbital data are provided from US Space surveillance network, with instances of colliding and ...

Hydrostatic pressure activates HIF‐1α via β‐catenin to promote stemness in breast cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
To mimic the elevated intestinal fluid pressure in breast cancers, we loaded human breast cancer cells (MCF‐7, MDA‐MB‐453, and BT‐474) to 50 mmHg hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure exposure upregulated HIF‐1α and induced stemness in MCF‐7 and BT‐474 cells.
