Semi-analytical Solution for a Multi-objective TEAM Benchmark Problem
Benchmarking is essential for testing new numerical analysis codes. Their solution is crucial both for testing the partial differential equation solvers and both for the optimization methods. Especially, nature-inspired optimization algorithm-based solvers, where is an important study is to use benchmark functions to test how the new algorithm may ...

Pressure-based Semi-analytical Solution of Radial Stokes Flows
The authors study the radial Stokes flow with recirculation zones between two parallel disks. To obtain a proper representation for the pressure, they combine traditional eigenfunction expansions with a functional analytic approach implemented first in the symbolic software Mathematica and then numerically.

Semi‐analytical solutions for solute transport and exchange in fractured porous media [PDF]
Fracture‐matrix interactions can significantly affect solute transport in fractured porous media and rocks, even when fractures are major (or sole) conduits of flow. We develop a semi‐analytical solution for transport of conservative solutes in a single fracture.

Nonlinear analysis of Euler beams resting on a tensionless soil with arbitrary configurations
Background The nonlinear interaction between an elastic Euler beam and a tensionless soil foundation is studied. The exact analytical solutions of the nonlinear problem are rather complicated.

Asymmetrical PZT applied to active reduction of asymmetrically vibrating beam – semi-analytical solution [PDF]
The article extended the idea of active vibration reduction of beams with symmetric modes to beams with asymmetric modes. In the case of symmetric modes, the symmetric PZT (s-PZT) was used, and the optimization of the problem led to the location of the s-

Semi-analytical solution to one-dimensional consolidation of double-layered unsaturated ground
Combining the one-dimensional (1D) consolidation theory of unsaturated soils proposed by Fredlund and Hasan and the interfacial continuity conditions during the consolidation, the 1D consolidation model for a double-layered unsaturated ground is obtained
