A Semi-discrete Scheme for Computing Two-Dimensional Electromagnetic Field in Time Domain [PDF]

open access: yes2006 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2006
This paper applies an unconditionally stable semi-discrete (SD) scheme to compute the two-dimensional electromagnetic field in time domain. Numerical dispersion of this scheme is derived and compared with the alternate-direction-implicit (ADI) FDTD and the Crank-Nicolson (CN) FDTD methods.

Existence and uniqueness for the evolutionary impulse control problem using an asynchronous algorithms

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
Impulse control problems pose significant challenges in decision making under uncertainty, particularly in scenarios where actions must be taken at irregular intervals or in response to abrupt changes in the environment.

Convergence of generalized MUSCL schemes [PDF]

open access: yes
Semi-discrete generalizations of the second order extension of Godunov's scheme, known as the MUSCL scheme, are constructed, starting with any three point E scheme. They are used to approximate scalar conservation laws in one space dimension.

Recent Progress on Flexible Multimodal Sensors: Decoupling Strategies, Fabrication and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
In this review, we establish a tripartite decoupling framework for flexible multimodal sensors, which elucidates the underlying principles of signal crosstalk and their solutions through material design, structural engineering, and AI algorithms. We also demonstrate its potential applications across environmental monitoring, health monitoring, human ...

A corrected L1 scheme for solving a tempered subdiffusion equation with nonsmooth data

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, we consider a time semi-discrete scheme for a tempered subdiffusion equation with nonsmooth data. Due to the low regularity of the solution, the optimal convergence rate cannot be achieved when the L1 time-stepping scheme is directly ...

Opportunities for Multiscale Pattern Modulation with Temporally Arrested Breath Figures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This works presents the temporally arrested breath figure methodology and its opportunities for pattern modulation. Through thermodynamic and photochemical phase change handles, this method uses drop‐wise condensation as a dynamic template for fast, accessible and scalable micropatterning.

Laser‐Synthesized Amorphous PdSe2‐x Nanoparticles: A Defect‐Rich Platform for High‐Efficiency SERS, Photocatalysis, and Photothermal Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Using femtosecond ablation, we show that an ordered, stoichiometric crystalline PdSe2 target can be controllably converted into a stable, disordered, non‐stoichiometric, and highly functional amorphous nanomaterial, PdSe2−x${\rm PdSe}_{2-x}$. The obtained nanoparticles offer significant advantages over conventional planar plasmon‐free substrates due to
