3D‐Printed Serial Snap‐Through Architectures for Programmable Mechanical Response

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A serial snap‐through architecture is realized using compact 3D‐printed von Mises truss units arranged in a staged cascade. Their geometry and boundary conditions program multistage mechanical responses with plateaux and re‐hardening regimes. An inverted‐compliance model predicts these behaviors and enables analytical design of programmable force ...

A nonconforming scheme for non-Fickian flow in porous media

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
In this paper, we construct a semi-discrete scheme and a fully discrete scheme using the Wilson nonconforming element for the parabolic integro-differential equation arising in modeling the non-Fickian flow in porous media by the interior penalty method.

Fully and Semi-discrete Fourth-order Schemes for Hyperbolic Conservation Laws

open access: yesComputational Methods in Applied Mathematics, 2007
AbstractA new fourth order accurate centered finite difference scheme for the solution of hyperbolic conservation laws is presented. A technique of making the fourth order scheme TVD is presented. The resulting scheme can avoid spurious oscillations and preserve fourth order accuracy in smooth parts.

Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

A priori error estimates of finite volume element method for bilinear parabolic optimal control problem

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics, 2023
In this paper, we study the finite volume element method of bilinear parabolic optimal control problem. We will use the optimize-then-discretize approach to obtain the semi-discrete finite volume element scheme for the optimal control problem. Under some

Pentagonal 2D Altermagnets: Material Screening and Altermagnetic Tunneling Junction Device Application

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
From a database of 170 pentagonal 2D materials, 4 candidates exhibiting altermagnetic ordering are screened. Furthermore, the spin‐splitting and unconventional boundary states in the pentagonal 2D altermagnetic monolayer MnS2 are investigated. A MnS2‐based altermagnetic tunneling junction is designed and, through ab initio quantum transport simulations,

A B-spline finite element method for nonlinear differential equations describing crystal surface growth with variable coefficient

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2019
In this paper, an efficient finite element scheme is presented for a class of fourth-order nonlinear parabolic problems with variable coefficient. To deal with second-order term in weak formulation, we choose the cubic B-spline function as a trial ...

Longtime behavior of a semi-implicit scheme for Caginalp phase-field model

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics, 2021
We present a semi-implicit scheme for the Caginalp phase-field model. The scheme is a combination of implicit Euler scheme together with Eyre’s decomposition.

An accelerated exponential time integrator for semi-linear stochastic strongly damped wave equation with additive noise

open access: yes, 2016
This paper is concerned with the strong approximation of a semi-linear stochastic wave equation with strong damping, driven by additive noise. Based on a spatial discretization performed by a spectral Galerkin method, we introduce a kind of accelerated ...

Double Helical Plasmonic Antennas

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Plasmonic double helical antennas funnel circularly polarized light to the nanoscale, offering strong chiroptical interaction and directional light emission. Extending a single helix design tool, this study combines numerical modeling with experimental validation, revealing large, broadband dissymmetry factors in the visible range.
