Long‐run confidence: Estimating uncertainty when using long‐run multipliers

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Political Science, EarlyView.
Abstract Researchers are often interested in the long‐run relationship (LRR) between variables where the dependent variable has dynamic properties. Though determining the long‐run multiplier (LRM) for an independent variable is straightforward, correctly estimating the significance of the LRM is often difficult, especially when time series are short ...

Improving the Understanding of Late Effects of Testicular Cancer in Adolescent and Young Adult Survivors: TRANSCEND‐XR

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Testicular cancer (TC) is the most common malignancy amongst adolescents and young adults (AYAs) aged 15–39 years assigned male at birth. Survivors often experience late effects of treatment and report unmet supportive care needs.

JOINclusion: A serious mobile game for promoting ethnocultural empathy in schools

open access: yesBritish Journal of Developmental Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study examines the efficacy of JOINclusion, a serious mobile game designed to enhance ethnocultural empathy in children aged 8 to 12. Grounded in the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) framework, JOINclusion delivers interactive scenarios through a narrative‐driven Story Mode and a collaborative Multiplayer Mode, encouraging emotional ...

Emotional and motivational experiences in teacher–student relationships and psychological need satisfaction during adolescence: A latent profile and latent transition analysis

open access: yesBritish Journal of Educational Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Emotional and motivational aspects of teacher–student relationships are central to adolescents' psychological need satisfaction and academic development. However, few longitudinal studies examine how these relational experiences evolve during adolescence or co‐occur with emotional‐motivational functioning.

Approximating multidimensionality with asymmetric unidimensional IRT models

open access: yesBritish Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Unidimensional item response theory (IRT) models are widely used even in settings where assessment data exhibit subtle forms of multidimensionality. Recent empirical evidence suggests that when item difficulty is associated with dimensionality, asymmetric item characteristic curves (ICCs) emerge in the unidimensional approximation.

Towards an ‘absolute’ timing of biostratigraphic and environmental phases from the Saalian late glacial to the Weichselian pleniglacial in central Europe—Insights from a lacustrine succession in Lichtenberg, northern Germany

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Palynological records are central to the biostratigraphic subdivision of the Late Pleistocene in central Europe. Yet many interglacial and interstadial phases—such as the Eemian, Brörup and Odderade—remain only poorly constrained in time due to limited numerical dating.

Advancing Global Oral Health Research Through Community and Academic Partnerships: An Overview of the CORE Programme

open access: yesCommunity Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background The increasing burden of oral diseases in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) and limited access to and affordability of oral care disproportionately impact disadvantaged groups. Oral health research has been dominated by professional academic perspectives with limited contribution from the communities involved. The aim of this

A Survey of Methods for Constructing 3D Urban Models From Point Clouds

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
The survey outlines a general process for constructing 3D models from point clouds and categorizes the methods based on their use of templates, basic surface primitives, hybrid approaches, or linear primitives. Additionally, the survey reviews the datasets and benchmarks that are essential for testing and training the developed methods.

Robo‐Saber: Generating and Simulating Virtual Reality Players

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We present the first motion generation system for playtesting virtual reality (VR) games. Our player model generates VR headset and handheld controller movements from in‐game object arrangements, guided by style reference gameplay examples. We train on the large BOXRR‐23 dataset and apply our framework on the popular VR game Beat Saber.

Key agroecosystems for the conservation of amphibians and reptiles in Europe

open access: yesConservation Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Agricultural expansion and intensification are driving amphibian and reptile declines worldwide. However, sustainably managed agroecosystems can support a high diversity of herpetofauna, which play a key role in pest control, reducing crop damage.
