Nonlinear Analysis of Rotational Springs to Model Semi-Rigid Frames
This paper explains the mathematical foundations of a method for modelling semi-rigid unions. The unions are modelled using rotational rather than linear springs.

Dynamic properties and time response of frameworks with semi-rigid and eccentric connections [PDF]
The paper is considering effects of the semi-rigid and eccentric joint connections of framework structures upon its dynamic properties and the time response due to an earthquake action.

Steel plate shear walls usually do not satisfy the strong-column weak-beam design criteria, leading to larger column sections. On the other hand, rigid frame structures are typically constructed in low-rise to mid-rise buildings built in locations prone ...

Guidelines for the design of braced frames with semi-rigid connections [PDF]
Abstract This paper describes the mode of application of the two usual design philosophies-elastic and plastic-to braced frames with semi-rigid connections. The attention of the designer is particularly drawn to the influence of the second-order effects on the frame stability.

Optimization of frames with semi-rigid connections [PDF]
This work describes a computer-based method for the optimum design of steel frameworks accounting for the behaviour of semi-rigid connections. The procedure explicitly accounts for both connections and members by taking connection stiffnesses and member sizes as continuous-valued and discrete-valued design variables, respectively.

An Investigation for Semi-Rigid Frames by Different Connection Models [PDF]
A review is made of the development of models used to examine the dynamic response of semi-rigid frames. The connection flexibility is modeled by linear elastic rotational springs. The reducing coefficients and the lateral rigidity values are determined by using a computer program. Response characteristics of frames are compared with reference to their

Nonlinear static analysis of steel frames with semi rigid beam to column connections using cruciform element [PDF]
In the steel frames, beam-column connections are traditionally assumed to be rigid or pinned, but in the steel frames, most types of beam-column connections are semi-rigid.

Analysis of the Behaviour of Semi Rigid Steel End Plate Connections
The analysis of steel-framed building structures with full strength beam to column joints is quite standard nowadays. Buildings utilizing such framing systems are widely used in design practice.

Post Buckling Behavior of Prismatic Structural Steel Members with Semi Rigid Connections [PDF]
In most designs of steel frames,beam-column connections are assumed either perfectly pinned or fully rigid. This assumption results in an incorrect estimation of the structural behavior of these frames.
