A semi-structured object model with relations

Proceedings 11th Australasian Database Conference. ADC 2000 (Cat. No.PR00528), 2002
This paper introduces a semi-structured object model based on a weak notion of object classes, named categories. In our model, a category holds common properties of a set of objects. An object in our model may have features of its own, not abstracted in the category to which they belong; hence the semi-structured nature of the model.

Modelling Entity Integrity for Semi-structured Big Data

2021
We propose a data model for investigating constraints that enforce the entity integrity of semi-structured big data. Particular support is given for the volume, variety, and veracity dimensions of big data.

Graph-based retrieval model for semi-structured data

2016 International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing (BigComp), 2016
The continuous need to process semi-structured data in the more connected and semantic web requires a retrieval model that can truly reflect the user's intention and capture a user's understanding. As a semantic network shows great potential in representing the inherent structure of information in a document, recent studies have attempted to apply ...

A model-driven approach to semi-structured database design

Frontiers of Computer Science, 2015
Recently XML has become a standard for data representation and the preferred method of encoding structured data for exchange over the Internet. Moreover it is frequently used as a logical format to store structured and semi-structured data in databases.

Semi-Structured Data Model for Big Data (SS-DMBD)

Proceedings of the 8th International Conference on Data Science, Technology and Applications, 2019
New business applications require flexibility in data model structure and must support the next generation of web applications and handle complex data types. The performance of processing structured data through a relational database has become incompatible with big data challenges.

Multilevel data storage model of fuzzy semi-structured data

2015 XVIII International Conference on Soft Computing and Measurements (SCM), 2015
The aim is the development of a new multi-level model of fuzzy semi-structured information data storage. A distinction of the proposed model from known is the use of extended polybasic intuitionistic sets for description of fuzzy data and representation of fuzzy attributes on three typing levels.

Conceptual Graphs Based Modeling of Semi-structured Data

2018
Due to the fast growing of data in the digital world, not only in volume but also in its variety (structured, un-structured or hybrid), traditional RDBMS are complemented with a rich set of systems, known as NoSQL. One of the main categories of NoSQL databases are document stores which are specifically designed to handle semi-structured data, for ...

Modelling the history of semi-structured geographical entities

International Journal of Geographical Information Science, 2003
Geographical entities are characterized by rather complex structures. They involve space and thematic information, which is subject to change in time, while history should be maintained. On the other hand, these structures may be irregular (i.e. they do not necessarily conform to a fixed schema), because associated data is usually collected based on ...

A Survey on the Semi-Structured Data Models

2011
Semi-structured Databases (SSD) are becoming extremely popular in versatile applications including interactive web application, protein structure analysis, 3D object representation, personal lifetime information management. The list is endless. In order to meet the challenges of today’s complex applications, a generic SSD model is in demand. Many works
