Self-aligned epitaxial metal-semiconductor hybrid nanostructures for plasmonics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate self-alignment of epitaxial Ag nanocrystals on top of low-density near-surface InAs quantum dots (QDs) grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The Ag nanocrystals support a surface plasmon resonance that can be tuned to the emission wavelength of

Transfer Printing and Reconfiguration of Soft Electronics Using Digital Microfluidics and Laser Machining

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a digital microfluidics‐based technique for transferring and reconfiguring soft nanomembranes. Laser‐machined nanothin membranes are picked up, transported, and aligned via tailored surface tension and the actuation of water droplets, enabling the development of flexible electronics, the integration of functional materials on 3D ...

The Effect of Fin Structure in 5 nm FinFET Technology

open access: yesJournal of Microelectronic Manufacturing, 2019
In 5 nm technology node, FinFET device performance is sensitive to the dimension of the device structure such as the fin profile. In this work, we simulate the influence of fin height and fin width to an n-type FinFET. We have found that an optimized fin

Charge noise and spin noise in a semiconductor quantum device [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Self-assembled quantum dots are very attractive as the building blocks for quantum light sources and spin qubits. For instance, a single quantum dot is a robust, fast, narrow-linewidth source of single photons, features not shared by any other ...

Titanium Suboxides Responsible for Electronic Anomaly Near Room Temperature in the Ti3C2Tx MXene

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Our multi‐technique study reveals that the near‐room‐temperature anomaly in Ti3C2Tx MXene is linked to titanium suboxide nanodomains, including Ti3O5, embedded within the MXene host. Their temperature‐driven transformation provides an alternative explanation to solvent‐ and swelling‐based models and offers new insight into the thermally activated ...

Obtenção de filmes espessos de seleneto de cobre sobre carbono vítreo, ouro, titânio e cobre Obtaining copper selenide thick films on vitreous carbon, gold, titanium and copper

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2007
Copper selenide (berzelianite) films were prepared on the title substrates using the chemical bath deposition technique (CBD). Film composition was determined by energy dispersion of x-rays.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Beta Radiation Enhanced Thermionic Emission from Diamond Thin Films

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
Diamond-based thermionic emission devices could provide a means to produce clean and renewable energy through direct heat-to-electrical energy conversion. Hindering progress of the technology are the thermionic output current and threshold temperature of

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.
