Semiconductor optical digital-to-analogue converter
A semiconductor-integrated optical digital-to-analogue converter, consisting of input and output multimode interference couplers, and one-bit delay line, has been realised for the first time. Small bending curvature owing to the large refractive index difference results in the small size with the delay line of about 1 cm length for 10 Gbit/s optical ...

Benefits of finer semiconductor device granularity on power converter thermal stress and MTTF
This article explores the thermal and reliability benefits of configuring the power semiconductor block of power converters with several small standard power semiconductor devices instead of a few larger ones at a fixed total chip area. The effectiveness

A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Luminescent converter of solar light into electrical energy. Review
We review a status of the research on conversion of solar energy into electricity by using the systems that split the solar spectrum with a set of luminescent concentrators. Influence of the luminophore choice (rare-earth elements, dyes, or semiconductor

InSb, a narrow‐bandgap semiconductor with high carrier mobility, is promising for thermoelectric energy conversion but suffers from high lattice thermal conductivity and strong bipolar conduction. Here, in situ interface engineering using Co2O3 nanoprecursors forms hierarchical CoSbx/In2O3/CoSb3 heterostructures that enhance phonon scattering and ...

Formation of Quasi‐Decoupling Interface on Li‐Metal Anodes in High Donor Electrolyte
Li‐metal anode (LMA) is stabilized by introducing Li2Te2 as an electrolyte additive for Li‐metal batteries. Upon contact with Li, Li2Te2 spontaneously converts to Li2Te, which electronically isolates Li from dimethyl sulfoxide due to its large bandgap and minimal Bader charge transfer.

Wafer‐scale two‐dimensioanl In2Se3 oxidized into InOx on sodium‐embedded beta‐alumina enables multifunctional reconfigurable electronics. Sodium ions accumulate within distinct spatial distribution under drain‐controlle and gate‐controlled operation. Drain‐control operation gives controllability of ultraviolet‐driven optoelectronic synaptic conductance

Machine Learning‐Assisted Inverse Design of Soft and Multifunctional Hybrid Liquid Metal Composites
A machine learning framework is presented for inverse design of synthesizable multifunctional composites containing both liquid metal and solid inclusions. By integrating physics‐based modeling, data‐driven prediction, and Bayesian optimization, the approach enables intelligent design of experiments to identify optimal compositions and realize these ...
