Semiconductor Laser Linewidth Theory Revisited [PDF]

open access: goldApplied Sciences, 2021
More and more applications require semiconductor lasers distinguished not only by large modulation bandwidths or high output powers, but also by small spectral linewidths.

Memory-Dependent-Derivatives (MDD) for magneto-thermal-plasma semiconductor medium induced by laser pulses with hyperbolic two temperature theory

open access: goldAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
A theoretical novel model of generalized photo-thermoelasticity and hyperbolic two-temperature theory is studied in this paper. The elastic medium is excited by an external magnetic field and pulsed laser based. The model is established in the context of

Exploring Multistability in Semiconductor Ring Lasers: Theory and Experiment [PDF]

open access: greenPhysical Review Letters, 2009
We report the first experimental observation of multi-stable states in a single-longitudinal mode semiconductor ring laser. We show how the operation of the device can be steered to either monostable, bistable or multi-stable dynamical regimes in a controlled way.

Small-Signal Theory and Design of Traveling-Wave Semiconductor Cascade Lasers

open access: greenIEEE Photonics Journal, 2010
Traveling-wave semiconductor cascade lasers (TWSCLs) are a form of series cascade laser (SCL) in which series-connected laser diodes are interconnected with commensurate transmission lines to create a periodically loaded structure.

Thermo-Elastodifusive Waves in Semiconductor Excitation Medium with Laser Pulses under Two Temperature Photo-Thermoelasticity Theory [PDF]

open access: goldMathematics, 2022
The current work aims to investigate elasto-thermodiffusive wave propagation in a homogeneous, isotropic, and thermally conducting excited semiconductor medium.

Theory of microscopic semiconductor lasers with external optical feedback

open access: goldOptics Express, 2021
The properties of microscopic semiconductor lasers with external optical feedback are theoretically analysed. The size-dependence of the critical feedback level, at which the laser first becomes unstable, is clarified, showing how the dominant indicator of feedback stability is the gain of the laser, irrespective of size.

Photo-thermoelastic diffusive waves with microconcentration in quantum-modified semiconductors. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE
This study presents a general one-dimensional analysis of photo-thermoelastic diffusive wave propagation in quantum-modified semiconductor media that incorporates microconcentration effects.

Theory of passively mode-locked photonic crystal semiconductor lasers

open access: goldOptics Express, 2010
We report the first theoretical investigation of passive mode-locking in photonic crystal mode-locked lasers. Related work has investigated coupled-resonator-optical-waveguide structures in the regime of active mode-locking [Opt. Express 13, 4539-4553 (2005)].
