Photochemical δ-hydrogen abstraction from acyclic and semicyclic monothioimides

J. Chem. Soc., Perkin Trans. 1, 1991
Photochemical δ-hydrogen abstraction from acyclic and semicyclic monothioimides have been studied. Photolysis of acyclic monothioimides possessing a benzylic hydrogen atom at the δ-position gave γ-lactams, via a 1,5-diradical intermediate, accompanied by thioamides were generated by γ-hydrogen abstraction.

The spectrum of semicyclic holey group divisible designs with block size three

Journal of Combinatorial Designs, 2019
AbstractWe determine a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of semicyclic holey group divisible designs with block size three and group type . New recursive constructions on semicyclic incomplete holey group divisible designs are introduced to settle this problem completely.

AbstractReaction of the piperidinyl‐dihydropyridines (I) with the acylisothiocyanate (II), formed in situ from benzoylchloride and KSCN, with Na‐alcoholates (or NaOH) gives the cyanomethylene compounds (IV) instead of the expected cyclization products.
