Abstract This paper investigates the issue of bipartite consensus for coupled harmonic oscillators under the cooperation‐competition network topology while considering measurement noise. The concept of bipartite consensus in mean square is established for networked harmonic oscillator systems.

Abstract The blackspot seabream (Pagellus bogaraveo) is a benthopelagic fish species highly appreciated by consumers and an important target of the Spanish and Moroccan fisheries in the transcontinental waters of the Strait of Gibraltar area. It is also one of the most exploited resources of the region, which has led to a situation of overexploitation ...

Global Dynamics of a Nonsymmetric System of Difference Equations
In this paper, we study the existence of fixed points, boundedness and persistence, local dynamics at fixed points, global dynamics, and convergence rate of a nonsymmetric system of difference equations. Finally, theoretical results will be verified numerically.

Abstract The suitability of corn oil nanofluid as an insulation material is studied herein by analysing the partial discharge characteristics. Experiments are conducted on nano‐silica modified corn oil at 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1 wt.% mass fractions. Electrode configurations are used to generate partial discharge (PD) sources such as corona discharge ...

Herein, a study of hydrophobic carbon nanotube coatings aimed at protecting low‐alloy steels from corrosive environments is conducted. Three different coatings systems are proposed, as well as a novel postprocessing technique. It is concluded that the postprocess is an effective method to transform a hydrophilic coating into a near‐superhydrophobic ...

Trajectory structure rule of a third-order nonlinear difference equation
In this paper the dynamics for a third-order nonlinear difference equation is considered in detail. By utilizing some beautiful mathematical skills, we describe the rule for the trajectory structure of this equation clearly and completely. The successive

On the areas of cyclic and semicyclic polygons
We investigate the ``generalized Heron polynomial'' that relates the squared area of an n-gon inscribed in a circle to the squares of its side lengths. For a (2m+1)-gon or (2m+2)-gon, we express it as the defining polynomial of a certain variety derived from the variety of binary (2m-1)-forms having m-1 double roots.

Analysis of second-order recurrences using augmented phase portraits [PDF]
The augmented phase portrait, introduced by Sabrina Streipert and Gail Wolkowicz, is used to analyze second order rational discrete maps of the form \begin{align*} x_{n+1} = \frac{\alpha + \beta x_n + \gamma x_{n-1}}{A + Bx_n + C x_{n-1}}, \text ...

The reaction of MCl4(thf)2 (M = Zr, Hf) with 1,4‐dilitiobutane in diethyl ether at –25 °C or at 0 °C with a molar ratio of 1 : 3 yields the homoleptic “ate” complexes [(thf)4Li] [{(thf)Li}M(C4H8)3] 1‐Zr (M = Zr) and 1‐Hf (M = Hf). The crystalline compounds form ion lattices with solvent‐separated [(thf)4Li]+ cations and [{(thf)Li}M(C4H8)3]– anions. The
