Phospholipases in human seminal plasma
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Lipids and Lipid Metabolism, 1974Abstract 1. 1.Phospholipase activity was studied in human seminal plasma using exogenous phosphatidylethanolamine and phosphatidylcholine radioactively labelled in the fatty acid moieties at position 1 or 2 as substrates. The results demonstrate the presence of a phospholipase exclusively catalysing the hydrolysis of the fatty acid esterified in ...

Osmolarity of Human Seminal Plasma
Andrologia, 2009Osmolarity of human seminal plasma was found to be higher than that of human blood plasma. No significant relationship was found between osmolarity, spermatozoal concentration and liquefaction time. Osmolarity was shown to correlate with spermatozoal motility and optimum motility was observed between 360 and 380 mOsm.

Immunoglobulins in Human Seminal Plasma
Andrologia, 2009Single radial immunodiffusion has been used to evaluate immunoglobulins and secretory piece (SP) in human seminal plasma. Samples were collected from 90 healthy volunteers, 202 subjects submitted to vasectomy for contraceptive purposes, tested at various intervals after surgery, and 725 patients grouped according to selected andrological disorders ...

Aminopeptidase in Human Seminal Plasma
Andrologia, 2009Aminopeptidase of seminal plasma was studied in normozoospermic, oligozoospermic, obstructive and non-obstructive azoospermic men. Significantly higher activity was observed in non-obstructive azoospermic patients than that of other three groups. L-Alanine beta-naphthylamide hydrochloride was found to have highest hydrolysis rate in comparison to ...
