Allergy to Human Seminal Plasma
New England Journal of Medicine, 1973THE infrequency of the syndrome of allergy to human ejaculate1 prompts us to report another such case. In addition, we present immunologic data including histamine release, and the finding that the antigen is a relatively low-molecular-weight constituent of seminal plasma, present in seminal plasmas of all 15 men tested.

Practical application of seminal plasma
Theriogenology, 2008Natural mating deposits a large number of sperm in a high volume of seminal plasma. Semen processed for AI has the seminal plasma greatly diluted, and processing of boar sperm for cryopreservation removes all seminal plasma. Boar sperm were evaluated for the impact of seminal plasma on the functional status of boar sperm.

METALLOTHIONEIN IN HUMAN SEMINAL PLASMA
International Journal of Urology, 1994Metallothionein (MT) concentrations were measured in the seminal plasma of 4 fertile and 35 infertile mbn and in the hydrocele and spermatocele fluids. The relationship between MT content and sperm density, total number of sperm per ejaculate, sperm motility and abnormal form rates, leukocyte count and zinc levels in seminal plasma, as well as the ...

Immunosuppression by human seminal plasma
Immunological Investigations, 1985Immunosuppressive property of normal human seminal plasma has been demonstrated on various in vitro immune parameters such as, blast transformation of lymphocytes with Phytohemagglutinin (P), Concanavalin A and Lipopolysaccharide, E & EAC rosette formation and mixed lymphocyte culture.

Seminal plasma transferrin concentrations were determined in 155 infertile male patients and in 15 pregnancy-proven fertile males (control group); then the relationship between these concentrations and seminal parameters and plasma hormone levels was investigated.

5′-Nucleotidase from bull seminal plasma
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 19835'-Nucleotidase (5'-ribonucleotide phosphohydrolase, EC 3.1.3.5) occurs in bull seminal plasma in multiple forms. The heterogeneity does not reflect the existence of true isoenzymes, but is due to the association of the enzyme with particulate material and to molecular aggregation phenomena. Addition of detergents to native bull seminal plasma prevents

Seminal plasma biochemistry. IV: enzymes involved in the liquefaction of human seminal plasma
International Journal of Andrology, 1989SummaryA significant positive correlation was found between the liquefaction time of human seminal coagula and bound sialic acid. There was also a similar relationship between bound sialic acid and the enzyme sialyl‐transferase. This suggests that the degree of sialylation of the components of seminal coagulum are important in determining the ...

Human Seminal Plasma Antibody‐Binding Proteins
American Journal of Reproductive Immunology, 2003Problem: The physiological role of antibody‐binding proteins in human seminal plasma and the potential role of these proteins in infertility is relatively unknown.Method of study: Literature on antibody‐binding proteins. Results: Human seminal plasma has a diverse effect on immune function of the reproductive tracts.

STERIOD CONJUGATES IN HUMAN SEMINAL PLASMA*
Clinical Endocrinology, 1976SUMMARYA technique for the measurement of five conjugated steroids (dehydroepiandrosterone sulphate, pregnenolone sulphate, testosterone sulphate, dihydrotestosterone sulphate and testosterone glucuronide) in human seminal plasma is described. The steroid sulphates and testosterone glucuronide were measured by radioimmunoassay after solvolysis and ...
