Anaplastic Seminoma

Journal of Urology, 1975
The clinical and morphological features of 7 cases of anaplastic seminoma are reviewed. Although this tumor appears to behave more aggressively than classical seminoma, presenting with earlier metastases, it has the same prognosis when staging is taken into consideration. Radiotherapy remains the treatment of choice.

Mediastinal seminomas

Cancer, 1980
A series of malignant seminomas of the mediastinum is presented and compared with previously reported series. The difficulty of conclusively excluding occult primary gonadal disease is noted. Primary mediastinal seminomas are associated with a better prognosis than teratomas of this site, mainly because of their radiosensitivity.

Spermatocytic seminoma

Urology, 1976
A case is reported of a forty-four-year-old man with spermatocytic seminoma with no evidence of metastasis for twelve years. This patient is the second to have undergone retroperitoneal lymph node dissection and the third to have histopathologic examination of these lymph nodes.

Retroperitoneal Seminoma

Journal of Urology, 1977
A case of retroperitoneal seminoma is discussed, emphasizing the importance of diagnosing the primary lesion. Although the testes were normal to palpation and exploration a focus of seminoma was recognized in the left testicle. We prefer radical treatment of this potentially curable disease.

Spermatocytic Seminoma

Pathology Case Reviews, 1994
Spermatocytic seminoma is a rare testicular neoplasm that occurs only in adults (range, 25 to 87 years; mean, 54). It has no ovarian homologue and is found only in descended testes. It is not associated with other types of germ cell neoplasia. Orchiectomy is curative in virtually all cases; of more than 200 known cases, only one has metastasized.

Anaplastic seminoma

Urology, 1983
Fourteen patients with anaplastic seminoma were analyzed retrospectively. At the time of presentation anaplastic seminoma has similar prognosis stage for stage as the classic seminoma. However, the distinctive histologic findings and the high rates of local invasion and of elevations of serum beta-subunit human chorionic gonadotropin serve to ...

HCG-Positive Seminoma

European Urology, 1993
Publisher Summary This chapter examines the different aspects of HCG positive seminoma. The contrary statements about the prognosis of HCG-positive seminoma lead to severe insecurities about adequate treatment. The course of HCG-negative seminomas from 14 co-operating hospitals was recorded retrospectively to compare them with HCG-positive cases.

Seminoma in Childhood

Journal of Urology, 1980
We report on an 8-year-old boy who had a seminoma 2 years after orchipexy of the left testis. Seminoma is a rare tumor in childhood and, to our knowledge, this is the youngest patient with seminoma to be reported in the literature.

Primary Mediastinal Seminoma

Chest, 1971
Two cases of primary mediastinal seminoma are presented. The short history and the importance of extensive preoperative studies are emphasized. Final diagnosis was established by generous surgical biopsy. Although left diaphragmatic paralysis was present in case 1, the tumor responded temporarily to x-ray therapy in both cases.
