Phorbol Myristate Acetate Inhibits Senecavirus A Replication by Activating IKBKE–Mediated IFN Pathway and NF‐κB Signal

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Senecavirus A (SVA) is an emerging picornavirus causing vesicular disease indistinguishable from foot‐and‐mouth disease virus (FMDV). So far, there are no commercial vaccines and effective therapeutic drugs against SVA infection in China. Here, a library of 112 compounds were screened, and we found that phorbol myristate acetate plays an antagonistic ...

Controversies in NEN: An ENETS position statement on the treatment of patients with Grade 3 well‐differentiated neuroendocrine tumours of the gastro‐enteropancreatic tract

open access: yesJournal of Neuroendocrinology, Volume 37, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract Grade 3 neuroendocrine tumours (NET G3) represent approximately 20% of high‐grade neuroendocrine neoplasms, and the recent identification of this entity has given rise to many unanswered questions relating to clinical management. The prognosis for these patients is worse than for those with Grade 1–2 well‐differentiated NET, but better than ...

Seneca Valley Virus 3C Protease Inhibits Stress Granule Formation by Disrupting eIF4GI-G3BP1 Interaction

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2020
Stress granules (SGs) are the sites of mRNA storage and related to the regulation of mRNA translation, which are dynamic structures in response to various environmental stresses and viral infections.

Two Birds With One Stone: RNA Virus Strategies to Manipulate G3BP1 and Other Stress Granule Components

open access: yesWIREs RNA, Volume 16, Issue 2, March/April 2025.
Stress granules emerging during viral infection can play both pro‐ and antiviral roles. RNA viruses use various strategies to antagonize their formation, including the degradation, inhibition, or sequestration of G3BP1, a key stress granule protein. However, biochemical and structural insights into these mechanisms have been reported for only a handful

Experimental Seneca Valley virus infection in sows and their offspring

open access: yesVeterinary Microbiology
Neonatal mortality has been increasingly reported on swine breeding farms experiencing swine idiopathic vesicular disease (SIVD) outbreaks, which can be accompanied by lethargy, diarrhea, and neurologic signs in neonates. Seneca Valley Virus (SVV), or Senecavirus A, has been detected in clinical samples taken from pigs with SIVD.

Structure of Seneca Valley Virus-001: An Oncolytic Picornavirus Representing a New Genus [PDF]

open access: yesStructure, 2008
The crystal structure of Seneca Valley Virus-001 (SVV-001), the representative member of a new genus, Senecavirus, is reported at 2.3A resolution. SVV-001 is the first naturally occurring nonpathogenic picornavirus shown to mediate selective cytotoxicity towards tumor cells with neuroendocrine cancer features.
