The paper deals with 18 species and 3 varieties of genus Senecio L., representing tropics and subtropics. It is for the first time that representatives of this genus were divided in groups and subgroups on the basis of their stem growth dimensions and succulence. This subdivision is useful for phytodesign. The plants description was made.
