Sensible and latent heat flux over natural bog vegetation
1995Abstract Goudriaan's crop model is tested for its ability to describe the energy balance of a natural bog vegetation. Data used to drive the model were collected during the summer of 1994. Model results were compared with field data obtained by means of the eddy correlation technique.

Deduction of the sensible heat flux from SODAR data
Advances in Atmospheric Sciences, 2008A new method for deduction of the sensible heat flux is validated with three sets of published SODAR (sound detection and ranging) data. Although the related expressions have previously been confirmed by the author with surface layer data, they have not yet been validated with observations from the boundary layer before this work.

Sensible and Latent Heat Flux Measurements over the Ocean
Journal of Physical Oceanography, 1982Abstract This papar presents an extensive act of sensible heat (Reynolds flux and dissipation methods) and latent heat (dissipation method) flux measurements from a stable deep water tower and from ships on the deep sea. Operational difficulties associated with ship spray and flow distortion and with sensor calibration, response and contamination are ...

Problems in the determination of sensible heat flux over snow
Geografiska Annaler: Series A, Physical Geography, 2002Measurements, as well as the majority of present–day GCM simulations, indicate an increase in air temperature, especially for polar regions.

Remote sensing of surface sensible and latent heat fluxes
Proceedings of IGARSS '93 - IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2002The potential for radar/lidar remote sensing of the surface sensible and latent heat fluxes is discussed, and some preliminary results are given. The method utilizes a parameterization scheme involving observables measured by radar/lidar in the convective boundary layer. >

Sensible heat flux measurements with a yaw sphere and thermometer
Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 1970A yaw sphere has been designed that measures a quantity that is proportional to the vertical heat flux. The method is described, and some comparisons are given with measurements made with a three-dimensional pressure-sphere anemometer, in combination with a fast-response thermometer.

Sensible heat fluxes measured in and near Vancouver, B.C.
2011A yaw sphere-thermometer assembly (YST), to measure sensible heat flux density by the eddy correlation method, was built following the design of Tanner and Thurtell (1970). Wind tunnel experiments indicate that the sphere constant should be 1.57, which is significantly less than the previously used theoretical value of 2.25.

Eddy flux of sensible heat at different levels in the stratosphere
Archiv für Meteorologie, Geophysik und Bioklimatologie Serie A, 1968Covariances of temperature and meridional wind component at 18 stations in the Northern Hemisphere were computed at 2km-intervals from the surface to 28 km. These covariances are proportional to the northward flux of sensible heat resulting from transient eddies.
