Decentralized Control of Uncertain Systems via Sensitivity Models [PDF]

open access: yesIFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1993
In this paper, we present a decentralized strategy for optimal control of interconnected systems exhibiting parametric uncertainty. First, we demonstrate that sensitivity models for linear interconnected systems can be generated at each subsystem using only locally available information.

The dual systems model: Review, reappraisal, and reaffirmation

open access: yesDevelopmental Cognitive Neuroscience, 2016
According to the dual systems perspective, risk taking peaks during adolescence because activation of an early-maturing socioemotional-incentive processing system amplifies adolescents’ affinity for exciting, pleasurable, and novel activities at a time ...

Optimally sensitive controller for digital systems

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1979
A scheme is developed which allows an optimal control policy to be maintained in cases where the parameters of the controlled system deviate by a small amount from the values expected. This is achieved by augmenting the nominally correct controller design to allow updating of the system control vector on the basis of observed deviations from the ideal ...

Automated Synthesis of Dynamically Corrected Quantum Gates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We address the problem of constructing dynamically corrected gates for non-Markovian open quantum systems in settings where limitations on the available control inputs and/or the presence of control noise make existing analytical approaches unfeasible ...

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Sensitivity Analysis for Voltage Stability Considering Voltage Dependent Characteristics of Loads and DGs

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
The sensitivity analysis becomes particularly critical for voltage stability analysis due to the fluctuation in power outputs of renewable energy resources.

Treatment Decision‐Making Roles and Preferences Among Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Decision‐making (DM) dynamics between adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer, parents, and oncologists remain underexplored in diverse populations. We examined cancer treatment DM preferences among an ethnically and socioeconomically diverse group of AYAs and their parents.

Response-Driven Optimal Emergency Control of Power Systems via Deep Learning-Based Sensitivity Embedded Optimization

open access: yesEnergies
The transition towards high-renewable power systems introduces high-dimensional nonlinearity and uncertainty, rendering traditional offline look-up table schemes prone to control mismatch against “unseen” contingencies.

Parent Quality of Life at Two Years Following Their Child's Completion of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Treatment

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Parents of children treated for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) often experience significant caregiver burden and disruption to their well‐being. While parent quality of life (QoL) during treatment is well characterized, little is known about outcomes during early survivorship.
